Don't fret, homie. I ended up paying around the same amount. Went to my store and got their very last bottle, out of the 24 they had. I'm gonna drink that scurvy fucker tomorrow for breakfast.

Picked up my reserved 4 pack in Toledo, OH at Joe's Beverage Center. I just got home. The employees stay true to their word and are incredibly nice and friendly. They held my 4 pack from Tuesday to Thursday. This was my favorite store while I lived in Toledo. Sadly, I don't live there any more and had to drive 6 hours round trip today. It was well worth it because I enjoy driving (music) and I got to visit 2 friends. We all split 1 of my bottles. I got the 4 pack for 20.99 which I thought was an amazing price. I just wish I didn't go to the back of the store (where all the craft beer is). Ended up walking away with a 60$ hole in my wallet. It was fucking fantastic. Hopefully tomorrow goes just as well locally!

Got my first bottle ever today. $6.29 Binnys in Naperville got two cases. First come first serve, one per customer. My wife got me one of the last few bottles. I am on two other lists and think I will get at least one more. Both places are one per customer.
    Can't want to try.

Also got two bottles of Pipeworks Citra Ninja. Excited about that too.

i got one today. i work at the damn store I bought it at and was only able to get one. they didn't even put it out. its all in back and most of it is already accounted for. shows how stingy people are with the KBS. was told I might be able to snag a few more later in the week.

Gotta check that one out, I guess. I've been hearing a lot about that one lately, and the one I usually go to, which is the one in Glen Ellyn.

I wish that were the case around here. If I could find KBS like I was pulling BB this past fall I could be taking a Bourbon aged bath right now.

You're lucky, my local store got only one case (beer manager was PISSED and almost kicked the rep out and sent him home w/ the case, but knew that would just cause even more problems) and w/ 30+ people on the list neither him nor any of his employees are getting ANY! I've gotta say he's a hell of a stand up guy though for putting his customers first when he easily could have at least snagged 1-2 for himself and the people near the end of the list would be none the wiser.

To be honest I was really just hoping for 8-10, but had to buy the case to get at least that amount. I have 8 family and friends that I know wanted to try it or would want to try it. I already explained in a previous post, but I told my dad and brother in law to not even bother looking because I would give them 4 packs. I am also going to give the other 6 people a bottle (maybe 2 if they love it). That leaves me with 14 (or less), which is more then I wanted, but I am sure I can find some people to drink them with me. I felt confident in liking them or finding one of the people I know would like them.

You don't have to keep explaining yourself, people (including me) are just bitter we had to work to get so few. If I got a case I'd wear that shit around my neck on a chain like a Flavor Flav clock.

Thanks. I just feel bad for people who didnt get any or love the beer and got very few. I also feel bad for the people who had to pay a ton of money for their KBS (I only paid 17.99 a four pack). I got lucky and wish more people had an experience like me. I would also guess that person didnt read the whole thread where I explained it. Oh well. thanks for your reply, you are right.

Atleast I am not selling them on Craiglist.

Making customers make other purchases to get the KBS is just wrong. Not that I wouldn't comply, but it would be the last purchase at that store. When they split they up the per bottle charge anyway, so it's a double gouge for them.

Picked up 2 bottles in New Windsor, NY... Far and few between upstate NY. Finally get my hands on this beer after years. It looks nice next to the 12 Pliny's I just brought home from my trip to Cali.

I thought I would try my favorite spot last night and walked out with some Six Point goodies, but no KBS. I have heard my share of hole-in-the-wall whale sightings, so I stopped by a local beer-wine-liquor store just for shits and giggles. I almost gave up hope, but decided to ask anyway. I was shocked when the guy grabbed 2 from behind the counter. I payed 8.99 each for those coveted bottles, but I know some have payed more. If stores had cases stacked to the ceiling, it would just be another beer. Hype is a mofo.

I've read of stores making people buy X amount of dollar in Belgian beer to be able to buy a loon or whatever, and that I disagree with since there is no point to it other than to give the store sales based on a certain beers hype/popularity, but making someone buy another Founders product instead of just walking in for KBS and walking out helps KBS be there next year for everyone that shops there.

I dunno, I can see their reasoning here.

Nobody can fault you for buying what you can get. You may never have the opportunity to buy that much again so you have to jump on it.

The way I see it, there are 4 reasons many BAs buy so much KBS year after year (besides the thrill of the hunt):
    1. They want to share it.
    2. They want to trade it.
    3. They want to sell it.
    4. They want to drink every last drop of it themselves.

Reasons 1 and 2 both amount to sharing, which is always a good thing. Reason 3 is illegal. Reason 4 I also have a problem with. I'd never buy a shitload of it for greed alone, but I'd never ever criticize someone who did.
