High expectations, but a very big disappointment?

Stone Ruination IPA. For all it's hype, and bragging of 100+ IBUs, very big letdown. I've had much hoppier, and I expected a much more hoppy and tasty brew. Even their regular IPA outshines it. It was still good, just not exactly what I'd call Imperial IPA quality.

CBS. Had huge hopes, and ended up liking KBS a lot more.

Imperial stout trooper. Its an ok stout, but for $18 and the local hype/frenzy of getting it last year left me disappointed.

Older Viscosity - for $18, this stuff should have made me a sandwich for being so mediocre.

Mother of all Storms... had huge hopes for this, but all I got was an oxidized mess.

I also have got to say Imperial Stout Trooper--a good to ok stout, but not as great as I thought it might be...more recently, Bear Republic's Black Bear Stout, which felll way short of what I was expecting.

I was a little relieved to hear that after coming out of countless stores empty-handed.

KTG by far, yet I still bought scratch tickets this year and am going to KTG day..im in it more of the experience than the actual beer. Actual beer is good, but IMO is not any better than some regularly available stouts (Oaked Yeti, etc).

Victory Storm King...I never tried it and was hearing all these great things about it. Stouts are my favorite style so I thought it would be a home run. Massive disappointment...I drank 2 and still have the other 4 in the hopes that in a year or so they will not be as god awful. Maybe I'm being a little harsh...but for a cult classic to be as weak as Storm King, makes you question the "cult".

Dirty Horse; the rare just overpowered all the other flavors.

Agree with the ruination comment. Also, Stone RIS was a big disappointment. Rochefort 6 (and to a lesser degree 8), RR Damnation, which I insist is the most overrated beer in the world.

I can't believe all the hate on the Abyss. It's my all time favorite stout.
