    We work at Triumph Brewing Co in Philadelphia. Unfortunately we are draft only there but I was planning on bring out some stuff we get around here not available in CA - Founders, Bells, Troegs, HF. If either of you are looking for something specific, send me a BM.

    Oh and if you want to eat some burgers and enjoy a few pours at the same time, Eureka Burger in the UTC Mall is a solid choice and is not too far west from the brewery action in the area. They have a very decent regular tap selection (Cismontane Black's Dawn on Nitro, some Societe stuff), with some rotating taps that can be amazing at times (eg Ballast Point BA Tongue Buckler!! YUM).

    Call ahead to see what's on tap, since they don't seem to post their list anywhere. Also, make sure you don't go during the weekday lunch rush. Service is hit or miss during busy times. Food is on the higher-priced side but decent, I enjoyed my elk burger.

    Some great suggestions here http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/san-diego-visit.76434/#post-1101417

    This is not an uncommon question here but doesn't necessarily reflect laziness. The idea of real time responses from those in the know appeal to some that frequent blogs (where answers may be more highly valued than static info), and from the requesting side, there may be a few that visit BA while enjoying a brew to two - not with best thinking on process (not thinking of search function). Been guilty of the latter myself.

    Looking forward to being in San Diego on Sunday!

    The only brewery that I say is a must stop is Societe. Nobody comes close right now, period. Go check out the flavor of the month stops if you must but do not miss Societe.

    Cheers....

    If the OP upsets you that much with a question about SD why even click on the thread and read it or reply to it?

    I don't know rrryanc's reasoning, but I find these threads annoying because the way they're asked reflects a lack of effort on the part of the poster. Just asking "what should I do" is an incredibly broad question and is phrased such that any worthwhile response needs to provide a lot of information. If people want effective help, they should ask specific questions, for example:

    * I'm planning on hitting Breweries X, Y, Z, and A - are there any spots nearby that I shouldn't miss?
    * I'm staying in Neighborhood X and from Beerfly, it looks like my options are Bar Y and Bar Z, which tends to have a better taplist for San Diego exclusives?
    * How realistic is it for me to get between Brewery X and Brewery Y on a specific timeline?

    Between the Places database and past threads, there's a wealth of recommendations and information about visiting San Diego. Rather than expect every response to rattle off as much information as they can, provide some basic information in your original post:
    * Where you're staying and whether you have a car
    * Spots you've already decided you want to hit, spots you don't care about, and spots you're looking for more information about
    * Time constraints
    * Family-related constraints
    * Preferences in style and environment

    Given a specific request, it's easy to rattle off a few recommendations and help someone nail down a game plan. However, if someone can't be bothered to do research on their own and ask specific, intelligent questions, why should anyone take the time to write a wall of text hoping that it provides relevant information? The fact that these threads have become a staple of the Pacific forum only serves to make it that much more aggravating, especially since you can't tell what type of question it is (broad or specific) without actually reading the thread.

    I'm sure this comes off as unhelpful and dickish, but I'm much more likely to offer help if I can tell that someone has put some minimal effort into their own research, and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in that stance.

    I agree with much of what you say...I may not like all these threads as well. I do not though click on threads like this and find a need to break out the box of tissues like some that lurk around these parts all day every day.

    Well first, it doesn't upset me that much. But Xul hit the nail on the head - asking the question shows a level of disrespect and laziness by the OP (and every other OP that's done the same thing). Why should the OP expect a level of respect or effort by others when he can't bother to do the same?

    Not dickish at all. Everyone should read this post before starting a thread like this.
