I'm Primarily an IPA guy..drink a lot of them. When I first "started out" down that Vast road (a handful of yrs ago), thought 2 Hearted was pretty good. Hadn't had one of them in Quite awhile, decided to go grab some..to my shock, I hated it, it's Garbage & a Weak offering @ that (of Taste)... It's just simply Not really a good IPA at all.

    I'd rather Go:
    Victory
    Sierra
    Columbus
    Great Lakes
    Lagunitas
    Stone
    Fat Head
..that's just to name a quick FEW or I'd be listing Breweries here ALL day.
    - Opinions (do) vary though as do Palates, but..Hopslam too..isn't really That great either (it's O.K.) You'll see...eventually.

Maybe you didn't mean it as such, but that's possibly the most arrogant, condescending sentence I've ever read. I'll see eventually? Like when I can build my way up to having as sophisticated a palate as you? Give me a break. I get that everyone doesn't like anything, but clearly, very clearly, a lot of people do like it, and two hearted, and Bell's. And Hop King is right about one thing, if it weren't for all of us on BA Bell's beers wouldn't be rated so highly, but only because so many of us LIKE THE BEERS!

Your arrogance shows when you refuse to see it as arrogant to assume it is your tastes we should aspire to. Which is exactly what you implied by saying, "(it's O.K.) You'll see...eventually."

Bells 2H Ale is the ultimate in consistency, you can get it damn near everywhere from gas stations to stores to bottle shops and it's always been good unless mistreated. Black Note is great, Kalamaoo is a very nice twist on a licorice stout and Expedition is great stuff. Hopslam is inconsistent, but it's still better than 90% of the IPA's's out there.

If you are implying my post may have been tinged with sarcasm, I beg to differ. I love his bold use of new ways of describing sensations. Take this stunning example describing the mouthfeel of Zombie Dust, "With that had to give it top rating for mouthfeel too seeing that everytime I finish a sip or gulp in my head I'm smiling and thinking wow that was fantastic. I probably do this in reality sometimes too."

Just moved to Michigan so I've only begun to delve into this market. It's interesting though. The first Two Hearted I had was after rating a few different beers, and I found it extremely disappointing and one-dimensional. When I had it again a few days later on a fresh palate, however, it was worlds better. Then again I had Oarsman last night after a few and that was actually happily refreshing and tangy. My experience so far, it would seem, is that their beers are conditionally delicious.

Bells has some quality shit. Java stout is great. expedition stout is great. black note is great. im a fan of two hearted. oberon is just for the mass appeal but is decent for lunch on tap with a burger. i would like to try the oracle and the cherry stout. over all bells is a damn solid brewery not overated at all.

I don't get this at all. I don't find it to be overrated, much less vastly so.

What makes any brewery "overrated" anyway? Doesn't "overrated" simply mean that too many people (see also: the majority) of the people think something is good? So...if you're in the minority, so what? There are lots of breweries that people love that I don't particularly care for. I don't find them to be overrated, I just find that I have different tastes than they do.

Bell's doesn't make a ton of beer that I go out of my way to purchase, but I've enjoyed nearly everything I've had from them. Fine brewery in my opinion. Black Note, Hopslam, Expedition, Oracle, Q Falls, Two Hearted.... That's 5 more beers than I've enjoyed from a lot of other breweries.
