weird that the bottles still broke in the shipper while being padded. Like I said above I had a bottle break that was in one of the secure cardboard shippers, I was shocked.

I would have the people you trustee for create some FedEx accounts, it is super easy, and then you can just have the bill go straight to them. Otherwise, you could print the label and since you know the amount you can have them paypal you the money before shipping (don't list shipping as the payment type or paypal charges you). I have shipped before to people and waited for them to paypal or send cash/check to reimburse, but I go in ahead of time with that agreement, of course that only works depending on your financial preference and being aware the person could not repay you.

I also do as you say, the people who send me their boxes and order slips the quickest get their beer the quickest. But overall I try to get everything sent out in a timely matter. Ideally a week or two, especially if I already have already received their box.

jackskeleton, honestly, you probably bit off more than you can chew, but you're absolutely doing the best thing possible by keeping communication completely open right now.

trusteeing is a pain in the ass. if it wasn't for the fact that the people i'm trusteeing for are all amazingly awesome and generous people, i probably wouldn't have offered to do it

There is no "other side" to bad traders. You either hold up your end of the bargain or you don't. If you don't, you're a bad trader. Period.

I just thought I would chime in here.

Jackskeleton is my Bruery trustee and I have had absolutely no problems with him at all. He's always packed my bottles well and shipped them in a timely manner.

I've never had any issues with getting in touch with him, we've talked via facebook, BMs, and via text.

I will admit, I have no expectation of my bottles being shipped the day the bottles get released or anything ridiculous like that, and I've told him there is no hurry and to ship to me when he can (he is doing me a favor after all), but if I ever needed something sooner, and I asked him about it, I'm sure he would get it out right away. So far he's always shipped out within a week or so, and that's fine by me.

Either way though, in my eyes, anyone who would have 12 bottles of Chocolate Rain that belong to others, and ship them out rather than "lose" them or just stop talking to people is not a "bad trader".

I understand the OPs frustration, but lets be honest here, life happens, stuff comes up, and this is just beer. Clearly he's trying to make everything right, so I don't really understand why all of these people who weren't involved at all are coming here and jumping on his back.

I'm happy to have jack as my trustee, and would gladly trade with him if he wasn't.

I'm tired of this excuse, "it's just beer.". Yeah, it's just beer, but some of this beer costs a LOT of money, especially when it comes to bigger trades. "it's just a fifth of my paycheck." doesn't sit right with me (granted I don't make 110k+ot). To jackskeleton, I apologize for the remark I made about the trustee thing. That wasn't the point of this thread, and I shouldn't have mentioned it in my post. However, you still have people saying you agreed to a trade that went unfulfilled on your part for multiple months. You claim freshness of beer to be your reason, but unless that was established from the origin of the trade, you didn't live up to your obligation. You blame forum collapse, but the forums have been up for over a month now.

It sounds like a case of spreading yourself too thin, but the fact is you left people high and dry. You can tell me to go fuck myself again, which I'll happily do as soon as you stop fucking the people you set up trades with.

Wait so the styro shipper that broke which is what started this whole issue was sent via USPS? I learned that they hard way...bomb proof for UPS and Fedex means USPS will still break your package. I seriously think they play rugby with some of the packages when they get bored.

Delay??? Delay is when your flight gets delayed 2 hours due to weather, or my kids go in to school late... Never heard of 2.5 months as being a delay. A delay would have been if this busted package happened in the end of January when we agreed to the deal. I have completed 10 trades since we agreed to our trade and two trades with the same people.

The deal was made when everything was fresh and "in your fridge" like you told me. I left Citra out of the deal because it was the batch from November. You needing to wait for fresh bottles is another excuse. You never promised me Citra until this thread started and after I said in a BM(a few days before this thread started) "I hope you are getting me a case of Citra to make up for the slack". I think it's funny how you quote me like I am asking for so much. Seriously man, I've had to wait 2 months for my ducking box, I think you owe me personally, but maybe that's just me. I sent you an awesome box that was loaded with extras. By the way, the last thing you promised to get me was the second batch of expo hoppiness in the beginning of March.

Also, I have 3 boys under the age of 8, a business to run and 2 houses to attend to. So I really don't wanna hear how hard it is being a trustee for you. We all have our own responsibilities to attend to. This is suppose to be fun, not looked at as a responsibility in life.

The various different excuses and lack of communication on your part have made this a horrible trading experience. If you would have been truthful and upfront about how you spread yourself to thin and you are having a hard time taking care of these various packages, I would have still been pissed off, but i would not have started this thread. You would not respond to my BM's for a couple weeks at a time, when I can clearly see that you were logged in many times since I sent it. Then I talked with two others that were waiting also, so I started the thread. I don't wanna stalk you and I certainly don't want to sit and write a long ass essay on here. It feels as if you are communicating now and will make this right. Once that happens I will write on this thread that you made things right.

As far as the box still heading in my direction, it's definitely heading back to you. The track shows that it went to the local fed ex hub(North Wales) and was refused. Then it was sent back to the main hub in Lewisberry PA. It should be delivered back to you by the 6th.

Yes shit does happen... He did not communicate with me and when he did it was another excuse. To me that is just ignorant. Yes it is just beer, but that beer+shipping cost me over $80. What should I have done? Just sucked it up and never posted this? It certainly got a box on its way when I did post! I'm glad you have had a more pleasurable experience with Jackskeleton, I wish I could say the same.

I have...its not common but its not unheard of. I have never had to post one of these threads(knock on wood) but my 2nd trade was so big that the other guy told me hey, we can do this but I'm a college student on a budget and some of the things I'd send you are freshness sensitive so it'll take some time. I told him that's fine to take his time and sent his package and didn't get his till like 3 months later. Communication is key though, he always answered and updated me so I had no reason to post something like this. Sure enough my package arrived and it was a slam dunk. I was ecstatic even if it took him 3 months to get it to me.

Also, sometimes life really does get in the way but again, communication is key. One of my trading partners wanted stuff from here over the summer and fall last year but summer I was away from college so I would've had to ship everything I received so I asked him to hold off on sending me anything till august but then I got slammed with classes and had no time to drink so I told him to just hold off till January but I'd still send him anything he wanted since I could pack during my study breaks. Then January comes and his work place gets really bad and he gets slammed just like I was with classes but he had to travel all over every week and was barely even home at all. He couldn't get the boxes out till like 2 months later and they somehow went MIA with the carrier so now he's replacing everything and sending it sometime in the next 2 weeks. His activity on BA has basically gone down to nothing because he's so busy. I haven't seen him post a single trade thread since his job ramped up. I'm not worried and I'm not outing him though its been 3 months since he said he'd get the packages out. Of course if he didn't communicate and just went awol then yea, I'd have posted my 1st of these threads.

There's also one instance where I took me that long with someone but I've written enough...there was never a bad trader thread about me though.

All I'm getting is another excuse for him again that's what upsets me about him.
I have a ton of things happening in life too but still shipped him a 31# box and I'm sure he's already found time to drink it "while he's spread thin" but at least someone had time! Oh wait I'm still waiting on My box too!

Thank you for quoting me out of context... I really appreciate it... The second half of my paragraph was definitely was unrelated to the first.

My point was that in the grand scheme of things, going without beer for a month or two isn't an obscenely huge issue as long as he makes it right... since "this IS just beer". Especially when you consider it's fresh beer and not something irreplaceable.

For you to come on here and talk the amount of bs you are speaking regarding a trade you weren't involved in is a bit ridiculous. Now don't get me wrong, I definitely agree that when negotiating a trade, if you set a date, you need to do everything you can to ship by that point, and if you can't make it, then be very clear and communicative as to why. I have on one occasion literally negotiated a trade, packed a box and got it in the mail in one day, because that's what was agreed upon, but, no one except for the OP and Jack know exactly what happened here. At this point, if they are in contact and working on resolving the trade, then we really should be keeping out of it.

I am a Bruery Reserve Society Member. I live in Texas. I order beers from the Reserve Society which must be picked up from the Bruery in California. My trustee (Jackskeleton) picks up my beers. Boxes them up. Then sends them to me.

Anyone can join the Bruery Reserve Society (a membership that gives you access to limited release beers), however they do not ship. So people who live far away will designate someone as their "trustee". Meaning this person can pick the beer up for the person. Then the trustee ships the beer to the person.

Typically the trustee is rewarded with beer for their effort. Sometimes with a good amount of locals, or a few higher sought after beers, or both. It is a lot of work being a trustee, but it is a fun way to build relationships with other people, get some beer, and help out other BAs.

The thing is... you're not part of these trades. Unless I'm to be mistaken and I did extend myself one more thin and you are in fact waiting for something from me. So your statements, and berating of me in this thread does nothing, and I mean NOTHING to fix the situations with them.

In fact, I would say that if people come in and berate a person who has already stated they were going to make things right leads to this mentality - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=TCgeaNfcw-w#t=154s

    It's laid out.
    Package was late as fuck.
Package with fresh shit went out.
    Package got damaged in transit.
Now we're stuck at that point till the package comes back on the 6th(?)
Once it does salvage shit gets salvaged. Broken shit gets replaced
Deal of fresh beer will be attained.

How about you keep your opinions about how I'm a shitty trustee or a shitty person to yourself now. Especially since a person I trustee for came in, you know, who I have set up a long term agreement with, and stated that I'm not "fucking them over". Did I spread myself to thin? Yeah, master of the obvious, I clearly did. But you berating me about it or "told you so" isn't going to point out anything that hindsight already did.

And you doing that does nothing but turns this into a flame war. Besides, what's the point of this? When I found out about Woodchipper in this thread I contacted him and figured out what was what with that and am working to make it right. So who am I leaving high and dry?

So I'll say it again, Go fuck yourself with your statements about my trustee-ism or my ethical code.

    And for clearfication:
It was originally Woodchipper's package back way back when where I used USPS and it broke. I started using Fedex and had no broken bottles since then, especially with the use of styro's. But this case with fj177 was the first one of that. So welp, rugby, forklift or who knows what can be the cause of all that noise. Goes to show you that USPS, Fedex or UPS....These things can happen, I suppose.

You are quite plainly wrong. It is just beer. But to all you jokesters who haven't traded with the jackskeleton, STOP BAD MOUTHING THE GUY.

After hearing his side of the story, he is no bad trader. Leave the guy be. He is doing the best he can and is trying to do a good deed. Life does happen and shit seems to always find a way to hit you in the face.

Jackskeleton, I got your back dude.

Its Woodchopper not woodchipper that's probably why I Still haven't got my beer? Or a tracking #. Who knows where or who you shipped what ever too!

I'm not going to drag this thing out into a bigger shit show than it is you fucked up and need to ship the damn beer and you know that. Just do it and post the damn tracking #'s to me and the other people and this thing ends there...... Other than the bad trader list again all I want is my nice box in return that you promised I even left it open to let you include some of your favs. The base was bootleggers knuckle sandwich, kern ipas and alpine
Just a nice return undamaged box is all I want Sir and we go our own was but til I receive the box I feel your still shitting on people by not following through. I know times are tough right now but finish up 1 at a time if you can't ship til next month say something man I'm a reasonable person! Lack of communication is getting my bad deal nowhere.
