This is kind of what I am curious about. I think my bottle is probably going to be one of the higher ranked ones overall, and there's lots of things off the list I would want, but only a short list of ones I would actually give up my bottle for. I'm wondering how many of the bigger beers are actually going to get traded. But I suppose that's why I entered ^_^.

I am also curious what the deal is with the CBX bottle of Whiskey Barrel Ten Fidy. Is it just a hand bottle?

Its Charleston Beer Exchange's CO2 backfilled 22 ounce bottles from a keg that made its way there in 2010

Hmm... that sounds interesting ^_^. Have any of the bottles like that been opened recently? (ie how are they holding up?) Not really sure how to rank that one.

Let say I submit Coors at number 5 and all the people have beer 1-4 all want to trade with me. Do I have more chance to get number 4 than number 1? In another words, does the way I rank a beer affect to the probability that I get that beer ( assume that someone has higher rank beer want to trade my Coors) or just completely random?

The higher ranked beers indicate a beer you want more than the beer lower on your list. The way that plays in to assigning is a secret but suffice it to say, rank things correctly and you will be pleased. The goal of the BIF is to match people with the highest personal ranking possible

Could've, but it would have just been a tease since I wouldn't let it go for anything on the list. However, I have others that would've been fun to throw in the mix. oh well. Hopefully there's a round 2 on this bad boy!

that would ruin the surprise. i would've liked to submit another great beer that i would probably be more prone to let go of...although with the list as it is, sounds like i'll have some things to match.

the good news is both submissions were accepted.

i swapped for one of these a while back and opened it a bit after a year post bottling date and it was amazing. at the time it was my personal wale...

pretty sure it was bottled in september the year before and it was opened over thanksgiving in a raid my cellar tasting with some buddies. i felt like it held up really well. here's my review. seems like the only one opened after mine showed some sign of infection (but still rated at a 3.8 - not the lowest rating).

just checked the list and i know it was up to cam to make the cuts, but i'm rather surprised at some of the brews that made the list. the big problem is going to be if everyone shoots for the moon, which i'm sure we all will do (i know that there aren't many on that list that i'd be willing to trade my 'unwanted wales' for). not to be a negative nelly, but i'd be surprised if 10% of this list gets traded. who knows though? gonna be interesting either way.

I'm curious as to how many "trades" will actually occur with "moon shooting" or even the bigger whales here. I guess we will soon find out!

I was just going to come in and say this. I am hoping that once we hit 'whale' territory, people are swapping the whales that they have had or don't ultimately want for ones they haven't and do.

That's exactly what I'm trying to do with mine  I hope every single beer trades...that'd be awesome!
