I like the notion of people at the local liquor store scanning Busch 30 racks for bottled-on dates.

I have a certificate from the Beer Drinking school at Busch Gardens. 30 day old Bud is way better than 180 day old Bud. At least I thought so in 1998.

Well, Im definitely closer to death than I am birth, but I can enjoy a cold High Life equally as well as a Founder's Breakfast Stout.

My Dad and all his friends only drank Stroh's and laughed at me because I couldn't drink it without having the shits the entire next day.

Actually in highly dry hopped IPAs like Pliny, Enjoy By, and Sucks etc, Provided they're fresh enougjh, I'll get that same burnt note. Its a common byproduct.

Corona doesn't taste like water though.
    It tastes like skunk juice.

The one positive I'll say in favor of BMC loyalists is that - ignorance is bliss. They enjoy their beer, don't spend a lot of money, its widely distributed. Meanwhile we are nitpicking if this years version of a beer is slightly different than last years version - spending hours online chatting, searching and spending tons of money shipping beer int he mail.

Just saying - maybe WE'RE the crazy ones!

Pretty much every Belgian blonde ale is as interchangeable as corporate lagers here. Malty, stuffy, sweet. Also: dat E405 beaten eggwhite head yo.

To them, maybe Guiness is very filling and heavy if they have only ever drank bud light the color and body would definitely be a touch "heavier." That said, I agree, people make assumptions that are simply incorrect, but you have to remember that their opinions are often based on these assumptions and not actual experience or evidence.

Same goes for people that make opinions on food without trying it first, or go into a beer thinking that it will be heavy bodied and bitter - now, what do they find when they take a sip? They either trick themselves into thinking it's heavy and bitter or realize that it's not at all and open up. Preferences definitely play a role as you said, but I think many people just don't investigate things themselves and form their own opinions. They just gobble up what they hear from others and tout it as their own opinion, which leads to extremely misinformed ideas that are far from factual.

That said, I say let people think what they want as long as it doesn't impact me. I'll still voice my opinion, but it's not worth a crusade. People know what they like, no matter how misinformed their opinions or reasons are. Unless they are open to trying craft, I typically let them do their thing and do mine!

Triple hopped meaning ... they use three whole hops per tank.

Just to be sure, this is the Duvel we're talking about, right?

Either way, I'll concede your point on the head. It can be a little meringue-esque.
