Highly hopped and dry-hopped lagers are a waste of hops.

Good one. I'm not going to defend Shipyard. Their beer ranges from below-average to truly awful. I never drink it. We both know there are a handful of breweries making excellent beer in Maine. I'm not trying to make this a ME-MA feud. I'm just amused by this circle-jerk of a thread. Thought I'd poke some fun at it, that's all. TOODLE-OO!

indeed. Even better- spoken like someone who hasn't a clue, or just wants to troll. Which is relatively obvious in this case.

There were 3 BA Frammer's on the shelf @ Chris Gasbarro's Route 1. Decided to be a good personand left one for someone else

    Also more ABCS stocked

I've seen this criticism of hoppy lagers in the past, that the long lagering time basically wipes out the hop presence. But having a lot of Jack's Abby lagers and trying ABCs last night, the hop profile seems as fresh and present as any beloved hoppy IPA or DIPA out there. Is there something they are doing to keep the hop profile so up front, or is this basically a BS criticism?

Read my reviews, bub. I think I gave it its due. A decent beer, but a stupid concept.

Ok, let's make this thread useful instead of full of childish sniping. Which seasonals are still on the shelf? My mom is visiting in a couple of weeks and I asked her to grab whatever's new to bring down (she's in the grafton area). Are ABCs, Private Rye, regular Framinghammer easily found?

There's no regular Framinghammer in bottles. Only barrel-aged. She might be able to find some still, not really sure.

I'm sorry, but ABCs is an incredible beer. Please make this year round!

Definitely not hyped. These guys are legit and brewing a less popular style. Best largers I have tasted since having Sam for the 1st time way back in the day. Hoponius is top notch and BA FH is on the rise as more people taste it. Kiwi is a DIPL worth tracking down when it releases at end of year. Might be better than Hop just because its a seasonal release. I am not a big fan of ABCS or Saxonator, plus Hurts Like Hells is ok, I heard Fire in Ham is an acquired taste. So not everything is superb but they brew great beer and are Mass only so for sure a diamond in the rough for us. I'd say they are on par with NEBCO and people go nuts over their stuff that I feel is good but not mind blowing.

Also JA has two interesting collaborations on the way with Lawson's and DC Brau

Yea I forgot how good Kiwi was. When it released last year I bought 2 bottles polished them off that night drove back to store for 4 more. Then it was gone after that. Plus after trying ABCS recently it made me think how much better Kiwi was

Wow hope they produce enough for everyone to get their share. JA has been pretty good about making enough beer. Any news on Julio's FB page?

Not really excited about beers only available at Julio's with their hold card program and how quickly rare stuff seems to go off the shelf there.

Just give me a chance to try it Jack's Abby, just give me a reasonable chance to get a bottle, and I will be happy.

That ad is not entirely correct. Julio's provided us with some barrels to do a small collaboration of something different. All this beer will be bottled and be available at both Julio's and the brewery.
