Howdy guys. I made this thread to talk about Philly Beer Week, so if you are going, post in this thread!

Personally, I've never been to Philly Beer Week, but I'm booking my hotel with a friend tomorrow. I'll be there from May 31st to June 2nd. It looks like an awesome time. Maybe I can meet some fellow BAs. I'm also new to the Philly area, so any advice may be helpful for me or others too. Cheers.

I'm fortunate enough to live just outside of PHL in the burbs. This is my favorite time of year by far. Looking forward to all the buds I have coming in to town for the week. My house will be a zoo. Good people, good beer, lots of laughs. Doesn't get any better.

Great site for checking out the events...

Last year's was incredible. I went hard all 10 nights - took me weeks to recover, but totally worth it.

Looking forward to hearing about the main events for this year. Presumably there will be a Funky Buddha event, HF, etc, as there were last year. Would love to see Tired Hands make an appearance this year too.

Wonder if we'll get another Heady Topper sixtel? That was a highlight from last year too.

What do you mean when you say Tired Hands make an appearance?

For them to do something special for Beer Week. Were they open first week of June last year? I can't recall exactly what month they opened their doors.

Opened their doors on June 2nd last year. They brewed Delicado, their collaboration with Hill Farmstead, during Philly Beer Week last year.

You picked the right days to come. There are usually a ton of events that first weekend and it usually slows down by the last two days.

From a couple of conversations I've had, Tired Hands will be operating business as usual during Philly Beer Week. Although it will indeed be their 1 year anniversary during the first week of June...they're pretty sure it's going to be busy as hell there with all the people that come in from out of town for PBW merely visiting the place during the week. Perhaps they put a couple cool things on tap...but who knows.

This is great news. I am glad it will not conflict with the US Open.

Gonna try to go on the 7th or 8th. I work Mon-Fri, and the first weekend I already have other plans.

I'm staying at the Hampton Inn Center City/Convention Center. I'm stoked. It looks like I'll have to stop in The Foodery. Their selection looks great if I want to come back home with some limited distributed brews from the Philly area. I'm definitely going to Opening Tap on Friday and the Expo on Saturday. I think I'll get a VIP ticket for the Expo, but I'm still debating a VIP ticket for Opening Tap. Is it worth it? Sounds like I'll have to check out Tired Hands. I heard Capone's (way north of Philly though) was a great restaurant with great beer if I can make it up there on the way back home.

I love the last Sunday of PBW. A lot of places have "kick the keg" events and discounted beers. The first weekend can be really nuts if you don't like crowds.

Missed out last year due to work, but definitely will be coming down this year.
