At the Parabola release today they had this gem. If you can make it the trip is worth it.

"2011 Parabola with locally roasted coffee that is added gives this beer a nice earthy flavor while enhancing the already present java flavors."

Yeah it is pretty fantastic, easily comparable to BCBCS and like beers.

Was this available at Buellton? I did not see it on the board in the restaurant, nor did I see it at Barrelworks.

Yay! Another coffee beer! Just serve people a coffee on the side and let them blend it if they want to ruin their beer with coffee.

I ended up at both locations yesterday and only saw it available at the Paso visitors center.

I would pay good money to see the look on your face when Pat puts coffee in Great.

    Hahaha.

But I agree with Sebowski. I love coffee and I love beer and absolutely love the idea of coffee beers, but somehow most of the coffee beers have this stale day old coffee flavor/aroma that just takes away from the beer, rather than adding to it.

You've had this beer before. It's not new.

I can agree with that. I feel like some of these coffee beers are made with shitty coffee. It surprises me a brewer would spend all the time they do on building the beer recipe (grain, yeast, hops, water, temp control, etc) yet seemingly add inferior coffee. I have heard of homebrewers doing that and I never understand why. Though just as the majority of people drink shitty beer, the same is true for coffee, and just because one drinks good beer does not mean they do the same for coffee.
