Notice the pour right down the center in the first commercial?

    Makes my heart smile...

Thanx Bill. I love old beer commercials. Had never heard of Mitchell or Gunther beer. Very cool.

Ann Margret does one for Ballantine XXX Ale. How cool is that??

Edit: She is in another one and man...that one was sexy as hell!!

    This one, Bill?

That's Ann Margret? Looks similar but never realized it was her.

That commercial never made sense to me - with that weird and seemingly unrelated "Philadelphia Phillie" bobblehead doll. By the time of that commercial Ballantine was on the skids -they'd dropped sponsorship of the NY Yankees but continued to sponsor the Phillies (probably cheaper, since it was a smaller media market)- so maybe they just spliced that in for the Philly market? Don't remember ever seeing that at the time, but the song (with different lyrics and a much different arrangement) was used in other Ballantine ads at the time.

The one and only. He did die to young. Commercial is so good.

As an old fan of the star, I can tell you that ain't Ann Margret.

I have favorited a few of these on You Tube. I also like some of the "commercials" that were created by fans of beer.

I'd say she's decimal point or two above Ann-Margaret, but only because I never saw a clip of the latter holding a deposit bottle of Newark-era Ballantine XXX Ale.

I haven't seen the former in tight jeans, cowboy boots, and wielding a Winchester either.

Hmm... a valid point -not that I recall what the woman in the video is wearing (besides the Ballantine bottle, of course)- I suppose she had clothes on.

Call me a wuss (I'd rather "pacifist"- whatever) , but I've always preferred women holding beer bottles over those holding rifles. Maybe the result of an unfortunately experience I'd rather discuss at another time.

That's great. I also think it's hilarious that they "less filling" shows up this far back.
