So I pulled 3oz(amarillo,simcoe,ahtanum) of dry hops from my ipa last night (and added 2 more lol) but I noticed they took on kinda a skunky smell to them. I still smell it on my hands(had to fish through the bags to get my marbles out). The beer still smells ok and the samples I took prior to dry hopping tasted fine( i under pitched a little though). Just wondering if I should be concerned. Not sure theres anything I can really do at this point anyways.

Sunlight getting in ? I have read that hops in beer hate sunlight and it will cause off flavors .. Just a thought.

Nah it's sitting in a closet..I dunno the beer smells good so maybe the hops I used just smell funky after soaking in beer

If they've been sitting in trub for a few weeks - then yeah, they might just smell a little funky.

Smoke a bit of it and see if anything happens...

    Might not be hops.

Seeing as how I used 5oz that would be a pretty expensive dry hop :slight_frown:
