I won't rule it out entirely, but the purpose of the Backstage Seriess is to essentially give the entire Founders distribution footprint a chance to sample some Founders beers that have been in the Founders taproom but never bottled for public sale.

I would doubt Founders would release Spite a 5.4% beer that is rated a 3.52 on here as a Backstage Series beer!

And if Founders actually released beers based on anything Beer Advocate related, we'd have endless amounts of Black Biscuit and CBS being shipped to our stores in trucks fueled by KBS.

The purpose of the Backstage series is for Founders to bring their "most sought-after" taproom beers to distribution. Nobody even bothered to review Main Guy Mango while it was on tap. I don't see why they would Backstage a beer nobody cared about. And there's no way it would be Spite. It would be the biggest flop imaginable. You think people are hating on Founders now? Imagine if they released a friggen second-rate chile beer for one of the most anticipated beers of the year. There would be riots.

Depending on aging time, the cherries may have been from two years ago. Or, they didn't have enough cherries for a full release batch of Cerise, so they used them for this. My vote goes to NCC.

Munich Man? Maybe. They played around with it a lot last year. Showed up at times you wouldn't normally see a marzen.

Outside of Black Biscuit, what other "whales" exist in the portfolio that haven't been released? Sappy Slappy Bastard?

I think someone else mentioned it, but a Nemesis return would be sweet. I'd take either recipe, really, as I've never had either and would love to try them.

I'd love Cashew Mountain Brown as well, but that's more unlikely than most due to the cost of making the beer. The cashews f'd that one up big for those of us who loved it.

Not directed at you in particular, but every time I see this I get confused. It's obvious Founders has a hit on their hands with Cashew Mountain Brown. I am willing to bet that a company going through multi-million dollar expansions has a few duckets in the bank to buy Cashews with. How much would it really cost for ingredients to make this beer?

They could easily charge $20+/bottle for this beer if that's indeed needed to make it profitable. I just looked online and I can get a pound of organic cashews for $11. There can't be a pound in each 750ml, so the ingredient cost isn't *that* high, maybe if they're backing in to a price point, but I can't agree that the cost of this beer is that prohibitive.

I know they aged some porter in the bourbon syrup barrels for the black party so I'm hoping they have more to bottle!
