High expectations, but a very big disappointment?

Gotta agree with this...it's okay but I wouldn't go crazy looking for it again

If we're talking bottles, I definitely agree. On-tap was 100 times better, imo

You must have gotten ahold of an old/poorly handled bottle. Nothing else makes sense to me..

Sierra Nevada 30th Anniversary Black Barleywine. Tasted much like a super hoppy porter. Not that it was bad, its just not what I expected. At the very least I got it for a steal at $6.99 a bottle. I only bought 6, drank one, gave away two have three left cellaring.

I love Founders but when I finally tried Devil Dancer I was greatly disappointed. For me, it was a drain pour.

I found Dark Lord to be highly overrated and I can't say I enjoyed it at all. Another one would be Supplication, I really enjoyed it but I had higher expectations given the ratings. I prefer Consecration and Temptation, just personal preference I suppose.

No, it was fresh. It sucked as an IPA, double or not. Nice try, though:grinning:

I saw the title of the thread and came here to say this. I was ridiculously excited to try this and I found it to be a complete mess.

Lagunita's(all of them) turned out to be a total let-down, as well.

I was very underwhelmed with the bottle of Orval I had last week. No depth did I find which matched the consistent descriptions and accolades which this beer seems to garner. I found GF's Rayon Vert to be so much more rewarding.

Bell's Cherry Stout shocked me. I thought it would be a grand slam. Instead, it tasted like someone like my kid pured his Capri Sun in my mediocre stout.

All 3 Rocheforts - they were mediocre.

The JW Lees Cask Aged Harvest Ales - all except the Lagavulin were terrible

Sculpin and Peche Mortal. Both good, but expected much, much more.

High tech robotic factory, amazing piano work and the ice slush on the outside of the bottle ... I really thought there was something there. Sadly it is just a soulless beer that would have been better served out of a 40oz bottle in a paper bag.

How is damnation overrated? Nobody is going crazy over that beer, it's just pretty damn solid for what it is.
