I'd rather get a nice glass of Scotch for that much. There I said it.

Sours are a whole different animal. There are no (good) cheap sours out there.

The thing that bothers me the most is getting your tab for two pints and seeing something like $20 and your like WTF. If I'd known I would have ordered a PBR or Lonestar. I hate asking how much is this and how much is that with a line of people behind you. Makes me look cheap, which i am. Let customers know price without having to ask so tab shock can be avoided. I'm complaining about a spot in SA, south town for the locals. Drinking at home is so much better. Total control and crystal clean glassware.

Petrus Aged Pale. Cuvee Des Jacobins Rouge. Though I suppose "cheap" is debatable.

I'm not. I like Laiphroag. Mostly because it's fun to pronounce. That and Caol Ila.

Farmhouse Black Metal and Mad Meg. OG Black Metal used to as well.

Beer Geek Rodeo as well. Technically Weasel Rodeo too although I'll give it a pass since the Poop Coffee and all.

Please note that I don't think that JK is bad, just pointing out that $12 for a BA beer isn't exactly out of line as indicated.

Again, same margins, just higher cost to retail. I've heard horror stories about JK prices in the valley, but $11-$12 is standard for Black Metal, Mad Meg, and Gotlandsdricka in most markets due to the fact that retailers are paying somewhere around $8 per bottle for those beers. Not sure why they cost the same as Southern Star's BA stout, but it's not because of gauging at the retail level. Some beers are just plain overpriced.

I know the prices aren't from gouging.

Sadly JK were the first beers I remember pushing past the 10 barrier for a regular release. It's like they started a trend. Before that DFH 750s were under $20. Now they push $15. Lips of Faith beers have inflated big time too. I'm sad that $4 bombers are few and far between.

Just a sign of the times I guess.

The aforementioned BA Bigfoot was going for $29/bottle at said place. I don't remember people doing pours, other than as part of a flight this past weekend at another place. I only paid for $5 pours of Sucaba at that Awkward bar. Honestly, if you're going to a bar and buying a bottle, you're asking to deal with outrageous markup.
