Looks like Ben Minkoff / General Beverage Distributors- who owned Huber and it's brands before selling out to Minhas, while keeping the Berghoff line - is re-introducing the brand with new "tweaked" recipes (via Randy Mosher) and moving the brewing contract to Stevens Point. Kinda goofy names on some of them and some "sketchy" history of the original brand and brewery, but, hey, that's beer marketing for ya...

Randy Mosher has a lot of beer projects going these days.

    I predict HUEG success!

For a handful of years (c.f. '95 - '03), Berghoff was always among the best-priced lines on the shelf, and with stylistic renditions and quality to match. Distribution really seemed to drop off outside of their old core market after 2004 or so, maybe owing to the many Craft and true-Micro startups taking up shelf space (and a little later with the Minhas purchase there were yet-more competing brands in that pricing segment, the Berghoff brands were rare birds!).

It doesn't hurt that they've got Stevens Point involved (bonus for me since I really like the Steven's Point brands!), but there are also a few (or a few dozen) new breweries n' brands between here and the new home market, so: "Good luck to 'em!" I suppose? :sunglasses:
