Had my first Sucks this year and thoroughly enjoyed it. I think part of the fact was the time it was released. A nice mid-winter beer when I had been drinking nothing but stouts for a couple of months. Alchemy was completely underwhelming and it sounds like I need to get my hands on some HH.

I was a little disappointed in all of the above beers and even Hopslam in early spring and was beginning to wonder if my taste buds were changing.

Then I had a Surly Abrasive last night. Now that is the real deal.

I don't know why everybody tries to compare DIPAs with IPAs, but if we are just talking what we enjoy most:

    Head Hunter>Alchemy Hour>Sucks

Head Hunter in a landslide, 2 and 3 are way behind number 1.

I don't know why everybody thinks DIPAs and IPAs are so night and day different.

I can't decide between Sucks and Head Hunter.

IBUsive reminded me exactly of Sucks, but I don't get the HH/Sucks comparison.

Alchemy Hour was awesome, but at 9.4%, it's a little much.

Not night and day, but it's easy to see why people like one over the other.

    Boozy/Sweet v. Bitter/Dry.

I have a clear preference and would take a good IPA 9 out of 10 times over a good IIPA.

Yes these beers are completely different from each other, and it seems silly to me to compare them.

Head Hunter vs. Sucks is a fair comparison..

The better examples of IIPA are neither boozy nor sweet.

I haven't had every beer on that list but it's a pretty safe bet that the overwhelming majority of them lean towards bitter and dry rather than boozy and sweet.

The style category ****s on this site need to tone it down.

I've had all three on tap, as well as 2 of the three bottled.

On tap, I'd rank them as follows:
    1) Head Hunter
    2) Sucks
    3) Alchemy Hour

Haven't had Sucks bottled, so I won't comment on the bottled versions.

I'm not a style ****, just stating that there is a tendency to favor one style over the other. Sure, there is some blurring of the lines, but DIPAs are generally more sweet and definitely have a higher alcohol level. With the higher alcohol, these beers often have less attenuation and are not as dry. You can find examples where this is not as noticeable, but that doesn't make a direct comparison.

And for the record, Alchemy Hour is boozy and sweet.
