I was also there last night and asked about it, and they insisted Edel-Pils was the beer they were giving out as the 20th anniversary (so they were probably pouring whatever they wanted). It's delicious, but I was expecting something slightly darker when I received it. Glad I didn't get winter warmer like you tho... I'm assuming it was an issue with Mike's and not NG tho, cause they also said there was gonna be a rep there and I'm pretty sure there wasn't.

    I know nothing.

Seriously though, I doubt Winter Warmer or Edel Pils is the anniversary beer. Belgian Dubbel is what I heard. I thought they had the anniversary beer at Discount Liqour's Crafts & Drafts this past Sunday as part of MKE beer week? I did hear that it will be bottled in the 500ml R&D bottles.

Also, when did I become some sort of oracle on NG?

When I was at Crafts and Drafts and spoke to the owner, she said the Pils was the 20th anniversary beer as it was the 1st beer they ever brewed and brought it back.

Talked with Deb Carey Sunday at the Craft and Draft Festival. She confirmed the Anniversary beer will not be at any of the places it was supposed to be this week. Dan Carey said it wasnt quite ready for release yet. Belgian Dubbel

First I'm hearing of this, but I'm excited. A Belgian Dubbel isn't my favorite, but I'm still really looking forward to it. Hoping it's out at the brewery when I go there mid-May. Was already planning on picking up a few of the anniversary glasses (two for me and one for a friend).

Personally, I haven't been a real big fan of NG's Belgian style ales. With the exception of their sours, none of them have been real outstanding, and for the most part, pale in comparison to their Belgian counterparts. I think Dan should stick with German and American styles.

Any ETA given? I have friends headed up to NG this weekend, wondering if this or any other R&D will be available.

Don't think there's been any R&D beers available since the Sour Ale release back in August. Wondering if this will actually labeled as an R&D beer, or just put in those bottles.

My understanding was that it would just be put in those bottles and not be labeled R&D (similar to the original Two Women Lager). I'm guessing the next true R&D release will be during the GTMW, but I have no inside knowledge on the subject.

Omg rare beer glass must have will give anything for it without bothering to look at it first.

That's what I figured, too. Regardless, I want it, haha. Need to get my hands on an original Two Women Lager, still. Have all of the R&D beers currently and would like to have all the bottles afterwards as a little shelf decoration since I love the brewery and like the design of that label/bottle family a lot.

Lol I figured. I have the same glass but did get a little excited when I read about a special 20th anniversary glass. Its pretty indicative of NG though, they tend not to make a huge deal about events and stuff so I'm not really that surprised.

I think that sounds like an awesome beer! And I would line up for that!
