Wanted: Vintage Sam Adams Summer

My girlfriend has a case in her closet. Full.

Ah, yes. I jumped the gun. It's only a 12 pack.

 

Why would someone have a 12r of the original labeled beer in their closet still? Don't mean this in a rude way at all, more curious haha?

 

We go to A LOT of concerts during the Summer. She bought a few 12 packs and just didn't get around to drinking them all.

 

Is that really the original label? It looks rather modern - like something from the 00's.

I remember the old labels used to look pretty generic beer-to-beer. Something like this:



They always had Sam Adams and then just a bit of style/color change. Nothing as fancy as the above Summer Ale. Like so:

Sadly we had to cut back this year. We have 7 or 8 more weddings between now and the end of October, and have already attended 1!

 

What year are they from? I can't imagine a summer beer being very good after 4-5 months ahha

 

My guess is they are 3 or 4 years old, so I hope that's the label he's looking for. My guess is he wants the bottle for the artwork for some reason...

 

I think Sam Summer came out a bit earlier than that - I definitely remember drinking it in the 90's - I'm more just asking why you think that label is the original one? I don't think it is...

 

It's hard to imagine the current incarnation getting any worse...
