All I'm saying is, it definitely makes sense to expand into the Twin Cities for Toppling Goliath before most of Iowa. Why? Because they're basically as close to the Twin Cities as they are Des Moines, and the Twin Cities is about 3.5 million people. The three tier system obviously changes thinking quite a bit though.

Either way, no need to hijack the thread, just BM me if you want.

Stouts are ales though, and I would say it doesn't make much sense to talk of IPA's and stouts as being substyles of the style ale.

Try a Celebrator Dopplebock or a Zwyiec Porter before completely write off all lagers :-)

Given the fact that TG's brewery build-out when complete will make them the brewery with the most capacity in Iowa (iirc), I'm sure their beer will be in all of Iowa, and parts of Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Nebraska in due time.

Doom got here yesterday. Could be gone already. Double Trouble is next week. Not sure about Hoptimum. I asked on twitter and haven't heard back yet.

Same here! I asked where it would be distributed, but no reply. Hopefully it hits Des Moines.

Beer Crazy had a case yesterday, per their Facebook. I didn't check it out, but I'd assume it may have sold out. Although, Boltcutter and Frangelic Mountain Brown are still on shelves so I could be wrong about a $19.99 750 ml selling out that fast.

You aren't wrong as far as your taste is concerned. As you pointed out, it is subjective. Furthermore, I get where you're coming from. There was a time when I would have expressed that Ales are much better than Lagers. I would say that I still consume about 80 % Ales. However, there are times when all I have in my fridge is a various assortment of Lagers. There really are some outstanding ones. What I was really getting at is that all Lagers do not simply resemble Bud/Miller/Coors (BMC), or some faux-craft Pilsener. That was my main point. Happy drinking!

Just a warning (and a shout out to the TG Folks), if you get your hands on some Doom...Don't drink it in proximity to Naughty Temple. A friend had a barrel aged beer dinner tonight that paired up various barrel aged beers against one another. Doom got paired with Naughty Temple and Burton Baton, and NT owned the category. Everyone agreed that NT was far ahead of doom or BB (the tasting was completely blind)

Cheers to TG...Keep up the good work!
