I saw this yesterday. At least they didn't mention Crafty beers. I think Best applies to State, not Craft Brew, although plenty of people would argue CA has the best craft beer in America. I agree the title could be changed to most in a state. The list could also be reordered by breweries per capita.

I'm also surprised what they mentioned for WI, but not offended in any way. I'm thinking, Any article of this sort (positive, has info, not preaching or featuring Blue Moon) is good for craft beer.

    InB4 "Pyramid was highlighted?!"

"hidden gems...at local institutions like Bells Brewery and Founders Brewery"
Do they know these two distribute to something like 25 states combined plus the UK? Not exactly hidden.

And they must be using old stats. We've got in the area of 180 breweries now.

Well, they did mention Ale Asylum. That is a little obscure, a least. Pretty poorly researched as most f these things are.

Yeah I saw this the other day and thought it was kind of lame. It's like Cliffs Notes of a real article, but worse.

Pretty bad. For the most part it was a mention of the breweries in each state with the widest distribution. Which in some cases is one of the best craft representations of the state...and in others, far from it.

How often does a big publication like USA Today actually say something that doesn't piss aficionados like us off?

    I agree with #1.

I'm also glad that Texas beat out Vermont. Vermont has WAY less breweries...

Well, the beers from Aslan Brewing are turning out to be hard to get ahold of, thusly, at least semi-rare.
