Founders Doom Glass

I like the glass as well. I think the only reason it gets hate is due to the label overlap on the side. There might be logistics as to why they did it, but it makes it look cheaper. That seemed to be the most consistent complaint about it. The Doom glass is really nice looking. I regret not getting one.

So I don't have to start a new thread on it - are there only 2 KBS glass types?

 

Already got shipping notice, well done founders. still waiting on my FW Barrelworks Teku to ship, been 2 weeks and heard nothing from them, even after sending a separate emaill

 

I'm in the same boat. They had no trouble charging my credit card right away though.

I emailed Founders and they replied back that the KBS glasses are on order since they sold out at the KBS release party. They said the same thing about the Doom glass, they would put any leftover from the Doom release party in their online store and if they sold out they would re-order them.

I wouldn't say "hate." That's a strong word. I'm not sure why Founders would pick a glass style that is clearly strongly Belgian influenced for a BA American Imperial Stout whose bottle label has always displayed an American "Wild West" motif. Honestly, nothing lines up here. Someone either didn't think this through or completely overthought the design of the new glass. How about this: a goblet or snifter with the current KBS bottle label since the original KBS glass was a short-stemmed goblet with the old bottle label. It's really not that difficult.

 

But it's pretty much a snifter with a couple more inches on the stem...

 

I think that thing's hideous. Can't stand the the short but morbidly obese stem, and don't find the band around the glass, that essentially defines it, as anything close to attractive. It's not like I needed more glassware anyway. lol I'm sure some love it, and I'm not knockin' their taste even a little, I just didn't like the look on this one even a little.

 

i would not pay $3 for that kbs glass
