Boston has quite a few options for good beers right in the airport.
And getting to Sam Adams is pretty easy via public transport. They are pretty generous with their pours. I got pretty tipsy on their tour and it was free.

R&R will be around the 21/22 June. Not sure yet on the length of the layover. I did this thread so I can determine where I want to go and see what I can do to get a decent layover time.

Sounds like DC wins for bars and Boston wins for in airport beers and Sam Adams. Say what you want about Sam Adams, I would be stoked to go there.

as a fellow military member, NYC is your best bet if you have a couple days.

Forget Sam Adams, Harpoon is less than 5 minutes from the airport. Also, all of Boston & Cambridge is accessible by a 5-15 minute cab ride

There is a good chance Blue Jacket in DC will be open by then. It is around a 20 minute metro ride from Regan with one transfer. The metro stop is within a couple blocks from the brewery and Nationals park. I checked and the Nationals are home that weekend so that could be good or bad depending on how much time you have. Check out this article I have high hopes for this brewery. http://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/food/craft-brewery-with-built-in-dreams/2013/02/15/fa81f610-7609-11e2-95e4-6148e45d7adb_story.html.

If he is flying in from Dubai, he most certainly isn't flying into Reagan. It's ~30 miles in a cab from Dulles to downtown DC. Travel time severely varies based on the time of day. My vote would have been Boston.

I'm an idiot forgot Regan isn't international.
