BA Bigfoot was spectacular...so I'd seek that out. As mentioned Central Waters BBB is another one worth finding.

Probably my favorite style at the moment.

would you say ba bigfoot is worth $25 ? don't get me wrong i would spend $30 on BCBCS and stuff like that, i love the regular bigfoot as well im aging some of these bottles just for the hell of it since the 4packs weren't expensive at all

Old (and new) bottles of Bigfoot might be the best way to enjoy the complexities of this style without breaking the bank. My beer guy has a bunch of old stuff and breaking out a 2006 and 7 BF on a cool spring evening with friends is as good as it gets.

Bolt cutter isn't worth 25. It is 15% and will give you a sweet buzz but thats about all its worrh, there are many other beers that are better and cheaper that have been mentioned.

Sucaba, big foot, old guardian, old ruffian, back burner, insanity, behemoth, mother of all storms (close to 25 but totally worth it), old numbskull, etd

Can't say, that would be entirely up to personal taste. Personally, I would pay $25 for it...but luckily I didn't.

Just because a barleywine is expensive doesn't mean it's good/worth it.

Here are a couple of sanely priced BWs that are amazing:

    ST Backburner (Summer release)
    Avery Hog Heaven (heavily-hopped BW)

[quote="BedetheVenerable, post: 1236991, member: 247470" If you liked Sucaba, make sure to snag a bottle or two of Double DBA from Firestone Walker when it's released this summer. [/quote]

    This x 100

Old Ruffian with 12 months on it might be the most surprised I have ever been by a beer. It is a yummy, yummy beer.

Don't worry, it's a pretty crappy bw at any price. Tastes just like sugar coated hops.

I like it much better with a year on it!

Something you should try being from the east coast is Sebagos Single Batch Barleywine. One of my favorites

I'm shocked this has only been mentioned once.

Stone Old Guardian should be easy to find, and easy on the wallet! Also try the Oak Smoked variant from this year. Both still on shelves around here for about $7.50 a bomber
