Technically CFH is different every year. So far it has not been the same beer any year so each one is a one off thus far.

Oh and its Barrel aged and from a brewery that most people have heard of.

I don't get why a beer being barrel aged matters. An amazing beer is an amazing beer.

Sure CFH "changes" every year but those changes are extremely minor and by no means make each vintage a completely different beer (and, before you ask, yes I know from personal experience).

Because Barrel aging takes more time/skill/and space to make. Thus usually increasing their value and purchase price.

If they could just have another batch of MD out in a month what makes it special? The fact they released 300 bottles the first time?

All just questions not trying to get into an argument.

I understand that Barrel aging takes more time/skill and space to make but at the end of the day, the better tasting beer is the better tasting beer. That's all I'm trying to say.

Also, MD will only be a once/year release (this is from the owner of the brewery). The next time it will be available in is this time next year.

We will see. It may very well buck the trend, but this has all the makings of the overhyped local release that comes crashing down to earth. And a 4.0-4.1 is still a great beer. But at its current score it would be in the Top 20 greatest beers ever, and despite not having had it, I find that to be highly unlikely.

Fair enough - though that means there are exactly 0 reviews then for the new version. So we don't even know how good this beer is yet, other than a few 'hads', which will end up statistically irrelevant to the score over time.

4.0-4.1 is not a great beer on the BA scale. great beer stars around 4.3.

assassin was pretty damn good, having just had it and having no idea it was super hypey. i wouldn't kill for it, and i certainly wouldn't trade mimosa for it, but it was pretty damn good.

Btw, I'm pretty sure the minosa trade was for Assassin + MD. Like I said, MD is the one trading crazy, not Assassin

It's all relative opinion, but a 4.2 puts you in the Top 250 beers in the world. At the very least I don't see how you could call a beer in that list anything short of great. And IMO there are hundreds of great beers that score below that.

Correct. So instead of everyone freaking out and getting riled up over a 300 and 1200 bottle release maybe everyone can take a deep breath and wait and see how these beers end up scoring over time.

I really cannot wait for most of the people on this forum to be proven wrong. I'm not saying the reviews on these beers will stay at levels that they are currently, as that will be virtually impossible. That being said I really do believe they'll stay in the 4.5 range. I for one am sending a bottle out to California trading partners With the condition that they review the beer. Hopefully others from around the country that received this beer will do the same and time will show who's right and who's wrong

I just tried Mornin' Delight for the first time this weekend, I wanted to try it at GTMW this past summer but it was gone within minutes of being tapped. First off, I shared this one with some friends and will be drinking my other solo, so no trading bias here. This was the most amazing smelling beer I've ever come across. Picture the best breakfast joint you've ever been to on a busy Saturday morning. The smell of fresh brewed coffee and maple syrup hitting hot pancakes permeates the air. Now bottle that idea and that is what it's like. The taste follows the nose almost exactly, rich coffee, lightly sweet but intense maple with nice thick stout base.

The next morning my den still smelled of a pancake house.

What I find really funny is people on this forum who have been on here for many years STILL coming into the trade forums and bitching about the trade forums. Give it up people, move on. Vacax, cbeer88, I'm looking at you two in particular right now.

Also, I find the "unknown brewery" talk for Toppling Goliath hilarious considering they have been well known as the next up and coming Midwest star for a while now. They make lots of good IPAs, they will be big.

I just had a Mornin Delight and it was delicious. I was VERY surprised it was as good as it actually was.

I almost didn't go because of the price tag, but by the end of the release I had downed four glasses of Mornin Delight at $9 a pop, solid!

This is like the worlds most ridiculous truth functional logic statement.

A: I've never had this beer; B: Beer I've never had can't possibly be as good as it' been rated; and C: I've never had Assassin or Mornin' Delight. Conclusion: Assassin and Mornin' Delight aren't as good as they've been rated.

Yea, BA! Seriously! This is what makes me love you!

    Assassin has 1 review.
    Mornin' Delight has 6
All of these are local, and would naturally have a tinge of homer bias. Where are the other reviews?
I said I never had it. So before you call me out in a post, get your facts straight bub.

Mornin Delight is unreal good. I had mine tonight, and it is like breakfast in a bottle. The maple flavor is ridiculously awesome, and the mouthfeel puts any other stout I've had to shame. I won't tell you what you should try and trade for it, but it is worth the hype and then some. Also, I wouldn't age it, unless you want that amazing maple to start to fade. TG is killing it!
