Having this for the first time. Wow. What a big, punchy, delicious DIPA. I always heard it was kinda weird and gross with all the Summit hops, but I think it is really nice. Delicious malty base, super bitter but sweet enough to balance, overall a really great beer. Granted, I am having a really fresh can of the new version (that has Cascades in addition to the Summit hops) but this is good stuff. Oskar Blues is winning me over.
I had a very fresh 4 pack of the new version recently too. I liked it it alot, I just thought It was a little too boozy.
I had this years just the other day (apparently they changed it a bit this year?) and i thought it was excellent, althought I have always liked it to begin with. Would have go a whole growler but $27 was a little too pricy. Got gknight for 13 instead.
It's the only year-round (currently) Oskar Blues beer that I haven't had ... being told it tastes like garlic juice kind of makes me not want to pay for it. G'Knight's the best Oskar Blues beer -- DON'T ARGUE!!
I was about to get it today but it was $15 a 4-pack so I passed on it. If it is really good I will pick it up another time though.
Love Gubna, don't love the price. I'll buy it only if it's the only fresh DIPA when I need my IPA fix. $15 for Gubna vs $11 for Double Trouble or $12 for Palate Wrecker or $11 for 4pk of Double Jack or $10 for Hoptimum.. I have no idea how they get away with it.
