Good morning fuzzy craft beer bunnies,

Happy Easter! Mid-MI is beaming with sunshine, but it is a little cool and breezy - like a proper early spring morning. Everyone's lawns are lush and emerald green. Wait a minute, my John Deer is broken -and- the neighbor kid just returned from spring break. I wonder if I'd be breaking holiday etiquette by offering a mowing job? Too bad I can't sweeten the deal with a refreshing bottle of Short's Prolonged Enjoyment IPA (3.7% abv). He is 17 for crying out loud.

Yes, Short's has produced a respectable session IPA that I just purchased but have not had the time to try. And I do plan on bring a sixer to my in-laws house to quaff with the Easter feast. That way, I can still play basketball in the driveway with the nieces and nephews and only see ONE rim. The family and I spent a few days in Chicago for spring break and were able to enjoy very nice weather and a ton of touristy stuff. The girls got to go shopping and my boy was able to check out all the sporting outfitters, with the exception on NIKE TOWN being closed for renovations until this fall. And I got to enjoy a bit of craft beer hunting all along the way. Half Acre Daisy Cutter is/was/will forever be a phenomenal hoppy/chewy pale ale. Had it on tap at two different places, but my fav was at The Clark Street Ale House, conveniently located only 3 blocks from our hotel  We even swung by Three Floyds on the way home for a few cases of Zombie Dust, of which only 1 I got to keep.

Hopefully everyone will be involved with some combination of great friends, family, yummy food and tasty craft beer today. If you're too busy being social to log back onto this thread and post a few words about your new beer experience, that's fine. If you're a die hard geeky beer buckaroo and find time to post a pic, formal review link and colorful commentary of your new beer - hallelujah! Thanks for keeping New Beer Sunday fun, fresh and informative. Good day and good drinkin'.

In the holy spirit of craft beer,

    malty

New American IPA Sunday (week 373)

Happy Easter to all BA's. Beautiful day up on the ridge here in Mid Hud Val NY. Saved this one for myself, but shared the other two delicious beers from Alpine sent generously my way by exraided. A delicious Ipa. Guaranteed to please lovers of hoppy pale masterpieces.

    ****New Fruit Beer Sunday****

Yeah, no special font altering from this forum luddite, folks. It's gonna be a forcefully lazy Easter for me, just the way I like it. All I'm looking forward to is the traditional ham dinner from Mumsy-Dearest. Good times.

Can't say that the first of my few new fruit beers today (new both to me and to the BA database, apparently) was all good times. 'Twas Blue Moon's newest Summer offering, Agave Blonde: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/306/80193/?ba=TMoney2591.

Back for more in a bit...

New beer Sunday is either gonna be Heretic or Dreadnaught. I gotta a feeling it might be both. Let's see what happens.
    Cheers

    New Oatmeal Stout Sunday
    [IMG]

Some Elysian Dragonstooth Imperial Oatmeal Stout.

Love Oatmeal Stouts and this is really good one. A little heavy on the aniseed but the bitter, hoppy finish makes up for it. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/700/2023

How bout "2 new Beer Sunday" for me here. I am in Michigan also by the way, and I had such a great weekend! I got to enjoy so much stellar craft beer with a good friend and some family as well. The highlight was probably breaking into my first KBS bottle of this years batch. But my 2 new beers to try were, first exactly what you mentioned, a "Prolonged Enjoyment". Now I'm just about to celebrate yet another wonderful win by our Detroit Tigers with my first ever "ControversiALE". An unbelievable 2 amazing finishes and a 3 game shut out! Here's to a potentially stellar year!
Sipping on the Controversiale right now and it's very good! Both of these shorts have been great tasting.

I thought today would be an excelent day to go through some of Flying Dogs beers, so far I 'ved tried their Tire Bite Golden Ale, it was ok.

Now I'm having a Double Dog Double Pale Ale, I like it. It smells great, but the abv comes through a little to much for me.

I'm going to go APA on this one as well, although they call it a "white IPA." Chainbreaker White IPA from Deschutes. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/63/68942

Not a bad brew. A sour hoppy version of a wit, which really isn't as bad as it sounds.

Nice spring day here in dry land wheat country. First lawn mowing of the season this morning, so I'll be looking forward to more crisp clean beers in the weeks to come.

    Happy Trails.

First beer was fantastic, this one not so much. Not bad mind you, as I take another sip. Just not what I was hoping. Then again, how often is life ever so good as we hope and often expect. Today is a day of thanks and I am thankful for fine beer, even ones not so fine. New is good, always, right? Sorry for sucky pic

    I don't usually review beers as I wanted to obtain some more experience before doing so and this is my first time posting in NBS. I bought this one Friday and thought I would save for today as Chocolate on Easter sounded appropriate. The weather here in Oklahoma is a bit chilly for a Spring day compared to the upper 80s we had recently so this one went well with the day overall;

My rating was rather high but I am really loving everything about this brew although a tad spicy on the finish and I love spice. I think this is what craft beer is all about. Cheers ~
