Drinking a Founders Double Trouble for the 2nd night in a row.

Also drank some Pappy Van Winkle 23, Pappy Van Winkle 15, and Jefferson's Reserve 21 tonight, it was a good night at WORK!

What did you think of the Jefferson 21? I preferred the 18

    Want that Prairie Noir!

Finishing with a De Struise Red Haired Jean. Too smooth for my tastes but still nice.

I agree, 21 was good, I definitely prefer 18, but I was drinking the Pappys before the Jefferson's 21, so maybe I didn't give it a fair shake.

Personally, I think Jefferson 18 can hold it's own against Pappy. I prefer it to Pappy 15 and think it's right on par with Pappy 20 (it stands no chance against 23, though). The Jefferson 18 was from the old Stitzel-Weller distillery (the same people who used to bring you Pappys!) It was a wheated bourbon just like Pappy. Some would even go as far as saying that it IS Pappy with different clothes on. However, this new 21 year is NOT the old Stitzel-Weller stock and is NOT wheated.

Just some useful information from your resident BourbonAdvocate!

drank that hoptimum a little too fast (due to thirst, for which water would have been a better solution), so now I am on to some sixth glass!
