I got a lot of diacetyl in the only bottle I bought.

I had it on tap at Draught House on St. Paddy's Day. It tasted... like a more alcoholic blonde, to me. I don't really care for blondes, and the most noticeable part of the barleywine in the title was, well, just the alcohol. I didn't care for it at all.

Now, the Imperial Red... that stuff was great fresh.

EDIT: Although I am compelled to note that I did have it right after a WBADPP and a Double Jack. But still!

It's a good/decent brew. Not outstanding but I can certainly drinky plenty of it if needed. And oh yeah, it packs a punch for a somewhat easy drinking beer.

Where the hell is it? I haven't seen any on shelves in Austin. I did have it on cask at Craft Pride, and enjoyed it.

I've not looked, but I saw it at Red River HEB, too.

I sent a bottle as an extra, coincidentally had it the for the first time on tap that night and sent the guy a bm apologizing because I thought it was that awful. So glad I sent a ton of extras. Sweet syrupy cloying mess of a beer, candied sugar with lemon sprinkles and a touch of awfulness. But I still love real ale

Completely agree with the blonde comparison, reminded me a little of big Texas blonde or whatever that crap is.

To me... this tasted like Four^Quadrupled. I thought it was very very sweet. Had it again on cask and it was a little better.

I wonder if the distributor is trying to get the Red cleared out before stocking HEBs up north.

Oh, god. I saw some of the Imperial Red at RR HEB 2-3 weeks ago... with a best by date of something like January, I think.

This happens a lot, especially with RA products it seems.
