Sucks may have a dark number on it somewhere, possibly around the neck. You'd have to turn around in the light to see it. First three digits are date bottled (I think). For example 036XXXXX would equal the 36th day of the calendar year which would be February 5th.

fresh sucks would definitely challenge all the rest... then again, you all know my sucks obsession by now.
kinda hard to compare when the bottling dates vary so much...

No, it's a stout. It's just so well crafted that it tastes like an IPA.

You could always have one guy pouring them into glasses and then switching off every time. You'd have to have two separate tasting I guess.

Should've thrown a Surly Abrasive in there. I had 3 of the beers in one tasting (Pliny, HT, Abrasive) and Abrasive was a notch above the other 2, IMHO. Different strokes for different folks though.

That said... HT will win this. Amazing beer.

Toughest challenge is coordinating the freshness of DIPAs from around the US. Unfortunately for the test I participated in G-Bot was the oldest and suffered for it

The only one I haven't tried is Alchemy Hour, but I would say HT quite easily will be the best of the bunch, hard for even outstanding brews like Head Hunter and ZD to hang with a world class DIPA. I had fresh Abrasive and fresh HT back to back and I would have to flip a coin on that one, and as much as I like ZD and Head Hunter they would get crushed by either of those DIPA heavyweights.

G-Bot last? To each their own, I suppose. But I guess that is a hefty line up.

Yea hefty line up. Don't get me wrong all were good, it was like choosing, what victoria secret model is the hottest. Honestly i liked G-bot a lot when I had it 2 weeks before taste test. It was a juicy hoppy malty treat. Something happened in 2 weeks and competition was tough

Well, between that year old Hopslam and my ZD from Sergio's, we're 0 for 2. Definitely not what I expected from this beer. Almost like the back end had fallen out, and all the complexity had escaped the bottle 6 months ago. Decent hoppiness, but it felt "empty" in depth. Ah well... I'll still put the other bottle I have in the blind tasting. Happening this Thursday, BTW. But I'll be able to call the ZD from a mile away, and it won't rank in the top 5.
