A Surprise for Friends visiting from Belgium​

Girlfriend has some friends visiting from Belgium for two weeks. The couple are getting married while here. We loaded up a welcome basket full of fruits, good chocolate, candies, soaps, sunscreen, rum, fixins to make mojitos, yada yada yada.

I thought it would be a nice touch to also have a sampling of beers they may not be able to get there. Strangely, they're not huge into beer (compared to BAs.... but, who is?), but do appreciate a good one when they taste it. They are, however, big into coffee.... that's what he does for a living... coffee consultant for nice restaurants, shops, etc.

Anyway, I figured it would be good to have some Unibroue selections (La Fin Du Monde, Trois Pistoles, and Don De Dieu), as well as some Ommegang (Hennepin and Skythe and Sickle) to get an idea of North American's take on Belgian styles. I also put in some mild(er) hoppy beers like SN Pale Ale and Torpedo. Finally, since they like chocolate and coffee, I threw in some Terrapin Moo Hoo and Wake n Bake. To round it out, I put in a Young's Double Chocolate, a DFH Midas Touch, and a Bell's Christmas Ale (may be "expired", but what the hell).

Of course, you need proper glassware to enjoy these, so I also threw in a Duvel tulip and Samuel Smith's Pint glass. Let the beer education begin.





P.S. They have a fridge in their room, and a bottle opener... so they're pretty much "all set".

Wait until the BBA Coffee and Vanilla Bean Framinghammers come out. Mom may need to do another run!

Is she looking to adopt any 46 year olds? I'm potty trained, only come out of my crate to drink beer, and get along with other BAs.
