My first time out for the season will be an outing this Saturday. I hope my team isn't expecting much...

I played for the first time this season last Thursday, hit the ball extremely well. Rotten greens screwed me though

I too, plan on blaming my score on the poor course conditions.

Speaking of scores, what kind of golfers do we have in this BIF? I'm a bogey golfer, happy if I shoot under 100. My best score ever was an 85 about 10 years ago - my nasty slice stayed in bed that day and somehow I eagled a short par 4.

I'm getting on the course this weekend for the first time this season. Based on my early range seasons, I will suck.

Remember short game? Ha, me neither.

Johhny B and I met at the 19th hole last night to discuss our strategy and and who would Drive first on each hole.
I think our target will be happy, I believe we have hit 4-5 wants! Oh and the wants hit the rules perfectly!...

He's on his final hole. He's about 455 yards away, he's gonna hit about a 2 iron I think.

Seems like a fitting place to ask this question... do you carry 14 clubs in your bag? And if so... what are they? I count 13 clubs in my bag and one of them I haven't even used a single time. Just curious what you guys use. Here is my bag:

Driver, 3-Hybrid, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, Pitching wedge, A-wedge (never use this club and I don't even know what the A stands for), Sand wedge, Lob wedge, Putter.

Is there a club that I seem to be missing? 5-wood/7-wood? 5-Hybrid? Just felt like asking.

I think, an A wedge is now typically called a gap wedge.

    Either way, I carry:
Driver, 3 wood (which I never use but like the head cover), driving iron, 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,PW, SW, Putter

    This lurker carries:

Driver, 3 & 5 wood, 5,6,7,8,9, PW, Gap Wedge (52 degree), sand wedge (58 degree), lob wedge (60 degree), putta

I've never really been able to hit a 3 and 4 iron. I've gotten really good at controlling distance with my five wood.

Hittin the links tonight for some Bingo, Bango, Bongo with a few guys. That usually means drunkeness will ensue.

Arnie once did only God can hit a one iron. I think you use it just to get your balls out if the water hazard

I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) is that Arnie carried a 1 iron, because if there was lightning he would hold it up, because even god can't hit a 1-iron.......

It's my "rescue" club..... It doesn't get pulled out often.... usually if I'm in a fairway bunker with 250+ in.... that doesn't happen too often... or if I'm in trouble and need to keep it low (rather than playing my 3i high in my stance)
