Founders Doom in DC?

Right on! Still laughing about our good fortune, walking out to the parking lot after being told it wasn't showing up today and then doing a double-take at the Founders Backstage Series boxes that the guys were unloading from their cars. Talk about impeccable timing!

And hey, at least the wife should be fine now that you'll be in a good mood when getting home haha!

 

Yeah, that was some crazy good luck. The wife WAS happy I was in a good mood when I got home. Happy husband (with good beer) makes a happy wife? I guess!

 

Anybody seen this around lately? I drank mine last night and found it very enjoyable. I'd love to scare up a bottle for a regular trading buddy out west.

 

Arrowine had a case of it yesterday, announced it on Twitter and Facebook at around noon, when I walked in there at 4:15, I was shocked they still have two bottles left. I got one, $14.99, not horrible since some places where charging $20.

 

A bunch of you guys seems real local... anyone want to try to get some kind of a bottle share thing going at some point? I'm in Clarendon and have a very large rooftop and a big ol' Grand Room/community room.

 

I would be in for something like that. I have access to some pretty good stuff.

 

I moved to the DC area in January and have been looking for a bottle share / group. I have a decent cellar that came with me, and want to share certain bottles in a tasting. I live in the Courthouse area. Want to get something in the works?

hehe.. oh yea. forgot to change that when i moved (tho i'm headed back to socal for a long wknd, and will be stocked w/ socal bottles very soon, woot!); but anyways, edit Location: Virginia (arlington).

but not to completely jack this thread.... since the first wave of Doom came & went -- i think it's been all bought up -- i actually did like it; was able to get it on tap at westover the same day that kbs was tapped; everyone seemed to be overlooking doom to get their kbs fill, i didn't think it was half-bad, and if there's a second wave of Doom, i'll def make another effort to snag a bottle. i was able to grab one bottle earlier in the month, and would IP trade for a decent offer if someone who missed out is really feenin for Doom, i suppose.

I'm in DC and come down to Clarendon quite often. Bottle share sounds great..

Anyone heard of when Parabola is gonna drop in the area? More importantly, who is going to get it? Sucaba was really easy to find.

 

Depending on what weekend, I would definitely be interested in a Clarendon meet up/bottle share.

Just picked up the last Doom at World of Beer in Ballston... Picked up a couple Dayman IPA's as well. There's 2 or 3 left. They still have Habenero Sculpin on tap too.

 

I thought World of Beer was just a bar.. They sell sealed bottles?

What are their prices like?

I never think to go there when Westover is not far away.
