On the topic of the Reserve Society, this should flow more money directly to the brewery and thus mean bigger batches and less time between releases, and also should allow them to re-make all of the retired beers we ask about every week. I'm all for a reserve society (or any other thing they do) that allows them to remake OG Black Metal, Beer Geek and Whiskey Rodeo or allow them to make more barrel aged variants of them. Bourbon Barrel Vanilla Bean Beer Geek Rodeo anyone?

Wondering that myself. I'd argue that probably 9/10 beers the Bruery releases to the Reserve/Hoarders Societies are either A. delicious; B. cellarable; or C. highly sought after for trading purposes

Well, that one is a given. I'd say that is probably their most talked about release ever.

I could not agree more. Though I'm pretty sure that Jeff does not give a crap what I think after my last JK comment. :flushed:

Honestly, I feel as though all the cons listed so far could potentially be countered. Give me a few hours or days, and I'll attempt to address each one individually in one-mega post. I'd appreciate feedback on the responses I post, as always, someone else will see something I don't.

    Cheers!

That's not the case at all. I legitimately want feedback from the people who are interested in our beer in terms of the pros and cons of a reserve society. At this point, I don't even fully understand how one even works.

As far as The Bruery Reserve Society is concerned, I don't see how anyone can think its a bad deal. Guaranteed beers, society-only benefits, and you basically make your money back with the 15% discount they give you. Plus, for $295, you also get 10 beers in their initial package, including a bottle of Melange 3, Chocolate Rain, and Black Tuesday.

I would be all for a reserve society if it included access to classics like OG Black Metal, Whiskey Barrel Rodeo, and other classic offerings. Especially experimental batches of Vanilla Bean Whiskey Rodeo... Oh man..... *drool*

For someone like me, $300 is a big pill to swallow. Regardless if I'm getting a discount or not. I'd rather pay a bit extra from month to month and chose which beers I'll buy and which one's I don't want to.

Thats pretty much what you get to do. If you dont want White Oak, buy zero. If you want Bois, max it out. The initial buy in beers are known quantities like BT and Chocolate Rain, but the other beers put up for allocation are the ones that some people may want but may also pass on. Really an RS membership is best if you can find a friend to split with. Makes the initial buy in easier to stomach and the bottle limits are generous enough to share.
