Drinking the newest batch of RTA. First sip when cold I thought they put coffee break in my bottle, but whoa does the raspberry come through as the beer warms. You scared me for a second PW, but nice work as always.

had a lengthy conversation with them over the phone.

"why are you still working this late?"
"because you are taking advantage of me and your customers and making us both look bad"

to summarize they claim it's justified to make up for slower moving products, other stores are selling KBS for $10+/bottle, and I'm too young to understand how the beer biz works...

really appreciate the heads-up. please bring instances like this to our attention in the future.

Well this may be a bit old school, but I'm sure you wouldn't lose a penny taking your beer elsewhere. You guys are moving these kinds of beer with ease. Nothing wrong with aligning yourself with partners that will have your back. Especially in a companies infancy.

Either way, the transparency is fantastic. I garentee you built some loyal customers strictly on that merit.

Just had Raspberry Truffle Abduction and I loved it despite not being a fan of raspberries. Can't wait for the Orange!

On what planet is Raspberry Truffle Abduction a slow moving product? Still wouldn't pay a markup like that though, dissapointed with this place, as I have popped in there now and then.

I believe he was referring to other beer sold in the store as the slow moving product...

Any Simcoe Ninja still around? Wasn't able to make it down to the city this past weekend to pick up my FWB allocation.

The Castle still has FWB bottles at service desk as of yesterday around noon when I picked up mine if you can get down there.

I don't want to get anyone in trouble, but in my experience at Binny's LP, the first few months of FWBs, I would walk up to the counter, they'd find my name and cross it off the list. Now, however, I just walk up and ask for any Pipeworks that's not already on the shelf, and they don't ask for a name or anything. I'm FWB, so I'm not taking from anyone, but someone who was not FWB certainly could. Hopefully there's still some Simcoe left, as that's the only one I don't have.

Btw, stopped by PW today unannounced to pick up my gear (didn't know I'd be in the neighborhood until the last minute) and the guys were all really great. Tried the latest batch of Close Encounters and it's awesome, as usual. Nice to finally get over there and meet everyone.

might have been a better idea to tell vav, pw, or the front desk in a direct form of communication. theres probably already a line forming at CV with non-fwb-ers trying to score some [insert current fwb beer here].

Also, any idea whats over there right now? (FD: I am a fwb)

Last PW drop was April 23rd so everything should be fair game at this point until this week's release. that being said, no idea what's over there. last time i was in CV, there was quite a bit of stuff on the shelf (but not NvU or ninja series), but a bunch of coffee break abduction which has been the best abduction, IMO.

Simcoe & RTA hit the shelves today, as it has been the full 7 days since the FwB email went out.

And yeah, i switched to the honor system a while ago. It seems to have worked well, however now that it's out in the open, i believe i'll be forced to switch back.

I was always under the assumption that there weren't lurkers on here and everyone operated above board. You mean to tell me some of the folks on BA remain silent in the shadows and are the same ones selling DLD snifters on ebay or beer on craiglist or would lie to a beer guy to get my FWB beer?

My bad. I'd edit it, but it seems to be too late. If a mod sees this, I'm absolutely fine with them deleting that post. FWIW, for some reason I hadn't thought about it as an executive decision so much as rogue employees.

Really? This guy tells you that you're too young to understand the business? But you're mature enough to brew beer that has such a demand that he can justify over pricing it to make up his loss on another product? That's just insulting. It's like patting me on the head and telling me not to worry my pretty little mind about important things.

Why don't you send his account to Marianos? I've love to be able to walk down the street and grab a bomber easily.

WOW! This is my favorite hoppy offering from you guys yet! GREAT JOB PIPEWORKS! I love the Ninja series but Simcoe has become my favorite. I assume you used just simcoe for both bittering and aroma right?. It's such a great hop; love the duel uses for it.
That piney/resin/earthiness from the bittering and then the aroma of juicy citrus fruit and pine/grass, this beer is legit!
