I can't come up with any names, so I'll let you guys get the glory. Some good names so far, I think.

Good luck to everyone on this thread because I will try my best to hoard as much of this as possible.

    I have no regrets

I think I might just ask for the day off

So, as Matt and I were discussing, doesn't it seem like the Hellfighter wouldn't have been in the barrels near long enough? I believe they put it in there in February. Seems like 2-3 months isn't near long enough. This version might be like BBA Light Hellfigher.

Seems like this would be the only logical choice to have maximum Houston coverage!

They might want the cherries to stand out more. Just a guess though...

Cherry Helfighter Firecrotch Extra (better name for you all BTW) was just barrelled. I am talking about the BA Hellfighter Fun 005 coming out in May that hasn't seemed to be sitting long enough yet.

Challenge Accepted. I already have the day off so I know what I will be doing.

I have to agree with you here. It sounds like they haven't been in the barrels long enough because they are normally aged for 5 month. I have some bottles from the last batch so I can compare the two and see if there is actually a difference.

On a serious note though, Where the F is Rollin in the Hay?

That's what I asked earlier. They sent out a teaser and now nothing else. Has anyone emailed Karbach and asked them what happened?

Longer barrel aging doesn't necessarily mean more flavor. BA Sexual Chocolate is only aged for 2 - 3 months, if I recall correctly. I think that's a bad example as I like the base beer more than the BA version, but still.

I get that, but we know what to expect from BA Hellfighter and this seems to be the shortest it's ever been in there.

Eh, each batch has been getting less and less to my liking, anyway.

Now that that's out of the way, perhaps the barrels they filled up two or three months ago were filled just to get some fresh bourbon flavor out, then blend it with some other barrels they had sitting around. I would be surprised if they didn't have barrels lying around somewhere. They seem to have a pretty good grasp on what they're doing over there.

Yep, I know the first bottled batch was blended. Not sure about the earlier keg only releases though. To me, those seemed more barrel forward, and I don't think they were blended. Not 100% on that though.

I think most of the BA Hellfighter batch variation might be due to our memory more than actual variation. lol

I think it ages extremely well and improves over time.

I'd like to see if it follows a similar pattern to BCBS of aging well for over 3 years.
