Well, I have two trades pending, but one is out of the country. Anyways, I was thinking of heading to the OTWOA release on Saturday and I don't really buy too many of any single beer yet (just started with Bigfoot for aging), but I realize it is a quite local and relatively rare brew. I am still new to craft beer in general, so I am not looking for too many things.

I mean the only things I am looking for now are the big names that I always here like DL, Hunahpu, and BCBS. Also, anything FFF, Founders, and RR. Or it could be cans for cans, like Surly IPAs or Heady Topper. I am also interested in the Stone Verticals 2-9, plus any old collabs that would still be good, since I've only had Perfect Crime and Saison du Buff.

I'm not really too sure why I am making this thread or if I will even make it down there, because I am super busy, have never been to the brewery and it is a bitch getting into DC from Baltimore. All I know is it is $20 a six pack and $80 a case, which would mean it would take a case to get the Stone verts, as an example.

It is On The Wings of Armageddon from Dc Brau, and it is a DIPA.

OTWOA isnt really a rare brew.
they make it several times a year and from what I've heard it is now supposed to see some limited distribution in DC and VA (MD as well?)

You won't touch stone VE beyond 08/08/08 with even a few cases of DC brau. Traders with vintage rarity only trade up in rarity, not really quantity. Just because the dollar for dollar is there, even in your favor, it rarely means it'll work out (see any thread about Barrel Aged Dark Lord).

You won't get Hunahpu except from generous traders who bought a lot, same likely with Dark Lord. You can probably get shelf FFF, Founders or Russian River (though you're better off driving up to Philly for their sours on shelves). There are a ton of nice Vermont and Minnesota traders that could do cans for cans with you too.

Agree with ya on the last part Trady, disagree on the first.

Because Vertical Epic has already nuked the fridge, they were widely available to get locally. I picked up an 03/03/03 that I sent to txxpaxxspxyz as payment for sex acts, but that's a whole other story.... either way, it was $9 for the bottle, and required I walk to the store, not a tough get at the time (obviously long gone now though) The fact that everyone tried to trade their vertical (minus the one) already, finding someone holding onto any of them will be tough. I have no idea what this beer is he's trying to trade, but I'm willing to bet if I had a bunch of way-over-the-hill-not-really-good-even-when-they-were-fresh bombers of Vertical Epic, I'd unload them for whatever this beer is!

Ah, you're right there, forgot about the narnia fridges of Ohio. This is true, OP, that some places still carry it now that the novelty has passed of drinking all this on 12/12/12, some older vintages are around and available. However, this is unlikely with 02/02/02 specifically. That beer is legendarily terrible.
