    Lawson's Spring fever ipa... weighing in at 3.8% and delicious as every other beer he brews.

    21st Amendment Bitter American is a great session ale. I also like Southern Tier Live. Troegs Dreamweaver Wheat has a nice complex flavor profile from the hefe yeast strain. The summer seasonals are generally great session beers, something like Sierra Nevada Summerfest comes to mind.

    Belvoir Dark Horse Mild 3.4%
    Elgoods Black Dog Mild 3.6%
    Brewsters Hophead 3.6%
    Fuller's Chiswick Bitter 3.5%
    Brakspear's Bitter 3.4%
    I could fill a whole page with them. Note that these are all genuine session beers ie by definition shy of 4% ABV and according to the OP are very tasty indeed.

    A beer under about five percent abv. My vote goes to jacks Abby and leisure time lager. Cheers!

    My guess is a session beer is a "beer to have when your having more than one"

    While its not an ipa, hoponius union is as good as most ipas out there. Also lagunitas daytime is great, I prefer daytime over all day. But that's my opinion for what its worth.

    Just had one that fits the bill last night - Cisco Grey Lady Wit. Super tasty and this beer was gone before I knew it. Easily quaffed and low ABV.

    No sir, it is a beer brewed to a strength which can be drunk pint after pint after pint for several hours and still leave you a functioning human being.That's why the term belongs to sub 4% beer , the result of experience.It's not a term to describe what you drink a few of.It's the sort of beer given to farm workers who got 17 pints a day and still were able to gather in the harvest.

    Yes! Everyone should try 21st Ammendment Bitter American at least once and put to bed the myth that low ABV beers can't have flavor.

    None of these are IPAs, as I don’t like IPAs, but I’m a big fan of (not in any particular order, and certainly not exclusive):

    DuClaw’s Consecration Brown Ale;
    Brooklyn’s Pennant Ale and Brown Ale;
    AleSmith’s Nut Brown;
    Goose Island’s Honker Ale and Nut Brown Ale
    Fuller’s London Pride; anad
    Williamsburg AleWerks Tavern Ale and Red Marker Ale;

    Not an ale, but I’m really liking the hell out of Devil’s Backbone Vienna Lager these days.
