Surly Bitter Brewer rocks. Most english style bitters are really low ABV but big on flavor. Try Bluebird. I'm also a sucker for Berliner Weisse.

I'm stoked to be within the smallish distro range of Notch, whose brewer deals in low-gravity beers exclusively. Nice, flavorful, sessionable-by-intent beers (though, if you're a session purist, a couple of them do come in at up to 4.5%
    ABV).

And that makes me think of the new sixer of Notch Saison I have at home right now. Dry, tasty, and refreshing at 3.8%.

Victory Uncle Teddy's Bitter. So effing tasty at 4%, one of the very best cask beers out there.

I don't care for most of the ones that define themselves as session beers but Jack's Abby Jabby Brau (lager) is pretty solid.

I know that. It was just an excuse to post the video. Beers at less than 4% abv are few and far between in the USA. The term "session beer" should not be used but it is. Just ask Ding if you can find him. lol

I really strongly prefer the All Day to the Daytime. They both have a great aroma, but the flavor is totally lacking in the Daytime. Very mild, almost noble style hops and biscuity malt. Tastes like an ESB / pale ale hybrid, and not really in a good way. The All Day actually follows the aroma with a beer that tastes substantially similar to a full strength IPA.

Point taken. But unicorns are thin on the ground in the UK and we don't go round redefining the number of horns required

The OP would have to trade to get it, but Short's Prolonged Enjoyment is my session beer, and at 3.5% it even meets the British definition.

Not to threadjack the OP, but I am open to flavorful 4% ABV and under beers in available in Michigan. I am open to suggestions.

Look for a reliable trading partner and get trinity's red swingline ipa primatif and crooked stave's vaille saison. Anybody can add a shit ton of hops to a beer of any abv and make it flavorful, these are a whole new kind of tasty.

I don't know, hence the "supposed to be good"

Where are these low abv saisons? Most of the ones available to me are north of 6.5%.

    To the OP:
    Sierra Nevada Summerfest
    Sam Smith Oatmeal Stout
    Anchor Steam
    Brooklyn Lager

It's probably not available to the OP but the Worker's Comp from Two Roads is a 4.8% abv Saison...only one that I can think of.
