Ironically- I recently saw the last of the 2XMAS on a clearance rack and seriously considered getting some cheap and putting it away in the back of the fridge just to see what it's like next year. Heck- I still might do it next week if it's still around; I really liked that beer and think it could get even better, who knows.

It's your fridge, and only you know how pressed for space you are, but I think you made a mistake with that one.

Your cleaning out exercise is my "wow, look I still have some great winter beer left to drink...what a lucky guy I am" exercise.

This absolutely boggles my mind. I just don't understand buying so much beer that you need to throw out beers from your fridge to make space. Maybe just stop buying beer for a few weeks and drink what you have? Those are all pretty good beers. Shit I've got some Bud cans that have been in my fridge for over 6 months and there's no way in hell I'm tossing them. If you really want to get rid of them I'm sure it would've been easy to find someone to take them off your hands. Waste is no bueno

I made a deal with myself last year to keep in check. Except for beers that I put downstairs in my aging cellar, every time I come home with beer, I don't allow myself to buy anymore until I have consumed at least as much as I just brought home. My starting point was 6 cases worth that I came home from a road trip to NC/GA with, so before I had things go bad, I started the lockdown program. It keeps me from going bat-shit crazy chasing the myriad new things that are ALWAYS appearing on shelves.

    WOW!

I would definitely have just given away all unwanted brews to friends that I wanted to have a taste of what good beer tastes like. Remember that our spoiled taste buds can sometimes forget how good these beers are. Anytime you need to clean out space, just invite novice BAs over and share everything that you don't want to keep. They will enjoy the experience and you will enjoy the time spent sharing with good friends and talking about beer. Not saying that I know your need for space better than you, I just think you can always do a positive thing for friends who can't afford to just run out and buy tons of different beers to try. Anyhow, that's just my view on this thread.

Ah, Tim Duncan/Randolph Childress era. Class of '07 here. We had a pretty good run while Chris Paul was still around. Cheers

I periodically purge my beer fridges, but all I throw out are empty bottles.

You grill? Do you also make beer brats? 'cuz that's where my old beers go. Just emptied a few Octoberfests from the beer fridge tonight for that very purpose.
