Not sure if that's sarcasm. Seen Big John at a few places recently.

Got 2 of the 30 at Superior earlier today. Good times.

Probably not going to see it up north (Denver, north anyway). Bud distributor not carrying it yet and word is not going to.

Seeing that big john was a nice surprise. I'm really hoping we see bcbs this year. But if not I KNOW we'll get another awesome BA stout.

Are you referring to something specific? Is this a beer we didn't used to get?

Uncle jacobs, the most under the radar ba stout in the us.

Love UJ, though not sure I agree it's that under the radar, plenty of trade posts for it last year.

I think it holds its own with bcbs and parabola, but gets about 1/4 the love it seemed.

Fair enough. I think that's true about a lot of beers in our area. We don't do near a good enough job of hyping our beers compared to the other regions. Let's pick it up, people!

BSBS and Parabola have also been around for a while to have established their reputations, while Uncle Jacobs has only had one release. Give it some time and I am sure its popularity will spike.

That's also fair. It's tough to balance the "this beer should be more highly thought of/should trade better" with the "let's keep all of this for ourselves" mentalities. The PNW seems to do a great job keeping all the good stuff quiet and local, while the Midwest seems to do a great job of inflating the value of their beers.
I'm not suggesting we publicize local events/releases to people who probably wouldn't have gone/sought it out in the first place (as has been done quite recently), I'm suggesting when we have a good beer our area we let people know about it, this could take place after a release.

I feel that on a national scale a lot of people have their eyes on california, oregon, illinois, michigan and new england right now. It's almost un-cool to like colorado beers. For me, that's fine. Honestly, there are a few beers that I can think of that are better than their colorado counter partsas far as american beers go. Obviously we're not putting out a geuze to compare with cantillon. But if we're comparing apples to apples I do know that the breweries here in co are putting out some of the best beers representing these american styles. If the beer lovers of america think its below them to drink our beers, that's fine by me. And if they want to drink our beers and enjoy them, that's okay too. I don't think brewers do themselves justice by spreading themselves too thin though look at the promise of bcbs that was made to colorado last year. Perfect example of a company going too far too fast and exceeding their capabilities. As lonng as I don't get stiffed on colorado beers so some guy in new york can let it sit on his shelves forever, then I'm okay with it.

Well it took Lukas all of 15 minutes to sale out of Parabola. Luckily I needed a pipe wrench so I was out and about so I stopped by and got the last one. FW is down bad for this. I didn't buy their regular offers often before but that is going to be not at all for a while.

Anyone know of places still with Big John? Seems this ones proving almost just as hard for me to find. Might go up to Argonaught and hope for the best.

I was told that Denver wasn't getting it. Bud distributor for Denver thought the market was already taken care of for that type of beer and thought they would make more of an impact going South. I don't know this for a fact but that's what my beer guy told me today when I asked him about it.

I know Lukas sold there Big John at the same 2pm release as Parabola today and sold out...and apparently Parker Payless got it. So the suburbs of Denver got it but not the main city? Thought they were all the same distribution

Maybe my palate has changed, but I don't think Parabola is as good this year as in years past.
