there is a website that sells it for 40 euro a bottle, way too damn much! That beer is all hype! Rochefort 10 and St Bernardus are just as good if not better..i prefer Rochefort 10..

There are also websites that sell it for around 8 euro (which is why my personal number would be $15).

I'm sure there are even cheaper one's that I don't know of.

I wouldn't pay more than whatever the Rochefort 10 sitting next to it costs.

Was in a local liquor store the other day. Who back when Westy bricks were released said they weren't getting any. And I saw a Westy 12 bottle behind the counter with a post it on it with a name. I asked if they had Westy for sale they said yes and they were selling them individually at $40 a bottle......It appears they did get the Westy Bricks in and were breaking down all the bricks to individual bottle sales at $40 a pop and also selling the glasses. So I guess some people are ok with paying $40 for 1 bottle but not me.....

I got one. $95 (tax). Sold the glasses for $65 and one of the bottles to a friend for $20. Drank 1 at Christmas. Have the other 4 in the cellar. Good deal for me.

$7000. The price includes air fare, rail fare, cab fare, hotel accommodations, meals, and unforeseen expenses.

That's super sketchy, considering the fact that the monks were fairly specific about pricing. The owner of that store should be ashamed.

What's it worth to you? If you really like quads, try Westy 12. People tend to forget about Westy 8 a lot, which is unfortunate.

I have paid $20 in Belgium and in Denmark to have it a few years back, recently I had a bottle that was brought to a tasting and I think its worth $5-10, was not nearly as good as before, The color was lighter this time as well (the cap was a 12, but I think it was a 8 that was recapped. Or remembering my expectations were too high.

But according to my local craigslist, $60, and a limit of two bottles per person. the ad keeps getting posted, he must have a lot, or selling none more like it.

The batch shelton bros brought over last year weren't worth what they were charging, ill tell you that much. I'd pay $5-10 for it if I was in Belgium just to see if it was any better, but if the stuff that made it over here was representative of what it's really like, I would buy rochefort 10, chimay blue, or just about anything else instead.

Was it a blank bottle or did it have the gold "westvleteren XII" printed on the bottle? I can understand $40 as a retail mark up if it was not from the brick and they had to order it from belgiuminaboxx or something similar.

$85 for a six-pack is apparently the answer.

"How much is Westy 12 worth?" or "How much is _____ worth?"

As my pops always said, "As much as some idiot will pay for it." I kid, I kid...sort of.

FWIW, I'd have bought one of those bricks for $85, no questions asked, and enjoyed one bottle every 8 months or so, if I could have scored one. It's really, really good...is it THAT much better than St. Bernardus' offerings? Probably not, but it's got a hella cool story/mystique, and IS delicious, and a bit dift. than Bernardus. If it was available stateside for $85 bucks, I'd deft. pick up a brick every 2-3 years, and I'm anything but flush.

Before I had it I probably would've dropped 15-20 on it. Now that I've had it, I wouldn't pay more that 4-5 bucks for it.

I just traded a '13 Parabola for a bottle of Westy 12, so it came out to roughly $4$. I've never had it before, so I figured I should try it before the supply dwindled further from the 12/12 release.

After having it a few times now, I would be willing to pay up to $15 or so for a single bottle.
