Anyone Going want to set up some IP Trades for the event? I am bringing lots of perennial beers.

Really looking forward to this. Hate the fact that they will not have any bottles ready to sell at the event, but I am reminded that we were able to reserve the next release at the second SR B2 release last October.

    Hey all,

Catching up, but I wanted to address a couple things:
We didn't want to make promises about sours being ready in time for this event. With the disappointment over Persimmon last year, we are just taking the necessary precautions. Good news is that I just posted a press release announcing when the next Sour Release Lottery will take place - JUNE 4. We don't have 100% on what will be released at the time, but I can tell you that it will be at least one of the sours you are all hotly wanting. With the brewery move last year, it pushed back some of our production. If you've seen any of the photos on our Facebook, we've fruited kiwi, blackberry, and strawberry in the past 6 months. There are also others coming down the pipeline. As I've said before, we are truly at the mercy of the beer.

We still have some tickets available, but not a lot. We opened up another section of Developer Town for this event and almost doubled the tickets available. We went from 12 breweries to 20 breweries, including some breweries who made beer specifically for this event. We also opened submissions to include farmhouse and saison beers.

I've already seen Caleb's presentation, and I'm looking forward to it during the VIP session. There will also be some beers available to sample during this session that will not be available in the big fest.

    Anyone have any other questions?

    Cari

Last year, people who had purchased Sour Wild Funk Fest tickets with bottle reservations of Persimmon were told that because Persimmon would not be sold, we would be eligible to reserve a future bottle of one of your sours. Is this still the case?

Haven't seen that yet, but that doesn't mean it won't happen. I think I drank my last one a few months ago.

I shared my last Persimmon at DLD and it was still amazing. That beer has one of the greatest noses of all time.

can't wait for new upland sours. having never participated in a sour release lottery, will the entry tickets cost money or is eventbrite just being used as a way to organize the sales?

That's great news, I'm very much looking forward to both the event and the release. I did have a question for you Cari. I have a VIP ticket for this one and I also have a DD with me. Will she be able to come with for the VIP talk?

    Thanks for the good news

The tickets won't cost money. We're just using Eventbrite to organize it, and so our server doesn't crash.

Unfortunately we have limited seating for the VIP presentation, so no, she can't come into the talk.

Well it looks like my plans to come Friday or stay late Saturday have fallen through. I was looking forward to hitting up a bunch... Flat12, sun King, Brugge, broad Ripple, fountain square... But now I don't have the time. Hopefully someone local can give me suggestions. Any of these places open early before the event? If I had to choose 1 place to try some new brews, what would it be?

Go to 20 Tap. They've got 38 lines of mostly local beers, arguably the best burgers in the city, and they open at 11. That, and it's maybe 5 blocks from the event. IMO, the perfect choice for sampling a variety of locals and fortifying your insides for a sour beer onslaught.
