Is there beer popping up around the great lakes. Picked one up today and only saw a small amount of reviews

Lots of liquor stores in Chicago carry a whole bunch of mikkeller stuff...I was able to get the cognac barrell aged variation as well...sounds delicious. Hope I understood your question...

Where abouts in Chicago did you find them? A quick look at Beermenus shows nothing in Chicago yet, though they usually are not really up to date

Try West Lakeview, it's Mikkeller Central. They definitely have Cognac Brunch Weasel.

I bought a bottle of the Cognac Brunch Weasel, I hope it was worth it. It was like $13 for a 11.2 oz. bottle

I split one with a friend although there's not much to go around, and didn't think it was worth the price. The sweetness of the cognac barrels comes through very strongly without keeping much of the flavor profile of the base beer or the "Weasel" coffee. However, my friend said he got a lot of coffee. I personally found it lacking, and prefer the Cognac aged Black Hole if I had to chose between the two.

Even smaller... 8.5oz! FWIW, this was easily better than Cognac Black Hole (which I liked a lot) and probably the only Beer Geek Breakfast version that I have enjoyed.

Wow, I guess I just assumed it was 11.2 oz. But man 8.5? That's like $1.52 per ounce. Ouch!

I'm going to bring it to Dark Lord Day, and I'd love to say that I'll share it with every BA there but I doubt there will be much left after me and my friends get their pours. Bummer

It seems to pop up randomly. I've found it around Michigan and then in Boston and Atlanta when I was there recently.

I've had a chance to pick this up but so far I have passed. The reviews seem a little mixed for having to pay that high of a price for it.

We get some in Cleveland once in awhile. I easily scored Cognac Brunch Weasel a month ago, but I'm sure it's gone by now.

Not sure where you're buying your beer at, but Blacklick Wine and Spirits has been getting Mikkeller brews in for a while now.

I shop there and the beverage source. But this is the first beer geek brunch beer I've seen.

I seen some around a few weeks ago in Columbus, but i forget where though. Maybe Powell wine and spirits??? If i remember correctly, it was a little pricey at like $13.99.

Sorry for the late reply but the guy that already did nailed it...thats where I picked it up but it was a few weeks ago and there was only 1 out...sometimes they only have a few of their limited beers out and then just put a few more out at a time. Great store though...

You can always ration it out to everyone by pouring enough to fill the bottle cap and hope they actually taste it...or I can bring mine and we can have a crazy 17 fl oz to share with everyone!!!!
