Let me see your CAN-CANS is all about showing other BA's what your local area has for great beer in cans. We all have great breweries near us that have been or are moving to canning for many different reasons. For whatever the reason is that they can it we want to celebrate those cans and your local brewers.

Here we go with the RULES!

1-Min 144 oz (that is a 12 pack) no Max- its ok to give the Fedex guy a hernia!!

2-A minimum of 72 oz must be CANNED!

3-The remaining 72 oz can be any format you like. Bomber, 750, Growler Just make it good beer.

4-The box must contain some type of local food item that comes in a can! Peanuts, Popcorn, beef jerky if it comes in a can its fair game!.

5-All beers must be produced within 200 miles of your general living city.
-Exceptions can be made to include neighboring states, say FL can send stuff from GA and LA and AL. If they can't fill a box with Florida brewed goodness.

-The spirit of the box should be local!

6-Try to keeps wants, and style likes and dislikes in mind

All boxes should arrive no later than June 30th. This should be more than enough time and barring good reason and communication any late shippers could be subject to be reported as a bad trader.

We have a number of NOOBS in this BIF Please pack your boxes like you are going to punt them off of the Empire State Building! You are responsible for your box until the target opens it and there is no damage.

We have 28 participants, if I get 2 more by the time I send out the targets I will allow them to join. Once targets are out you are SOL!

Have some fun, lets see some trash talk and some porches destroyed.

Hint #0: My target is getting a Surly can beatdown. It doesn't matter that I don't know who you are. In your hometown, the forecast calls for Surly.

I hope my target's porch is made of concrete.

I consider fff to be local to me. No cans there, but you will receive plenty of Chicago aluminum-encased goodness as well.

WE HAVE 30 WAITING ON THE LAST 2 TO GET ME ADDRESS AND I WILL SEND OUT THE TARGETS.
I am using an excel program I created to randomly match up targets. I will do my best to keep you from shipping 3k miles but sometimes the beer is worth the pain.

Also, just to make it fun, what type of local food product have you guys found in cans?

In Minnesota there is a fabulous artisan agricultural cooperative that sells a delicious spreadable meat that is available in cans. I am excited to get the word out about our little local culinary delicacy. It is called Spam.

i had a question about that... would "canned" foods in jars be ok? or are we talking like, legit metal cans strictly..

The spirit is canned. But I have been thinking about it and i dont know a FL product other than frozen oj that comes in a can. so just try your best.

That OJ may keep the beer cool for all of a day and then spread a little Florida stickyness to each bottle for that extra local touch.

Also, be sure to use www.seekabrew.com to check for overlapping distribution. Oskar Blues is always welcome in my fridge but I go to any beer store here in MD and buy all of their regulars.

Be careful with this link, I beive it shows anything that has had the label approved for a can. I know CCB is not canning the Tocabaga, White Oak , Jose Marti or Invasion just yet. By the end of the year yes.
