Hopoholic quadruple ipa 15% from Drakes.. Has anyone seen this anywhere, and/or know if it's bottle or draft only?

I think it's actually from knee deep, and if I'm right it's draft only for the time being. Had it at Beer Revolution for their sour vs IPA day, and enjoyed it quite a bit.

Damn, I was literally looking at the website on knee deep when I wrote that post too. I may have found it on tap in Hollister, about 20 minutes from me.

How was that sour v. IPA day? It sounded like a palate pounding.

Solid beer. This first batch came in at 12.01%. They are hoping to get to 15% next batch. It's on at Sam Horne's in Folsom, but of course that's a long way from Monterey!

It's not bad, but not really something I would want to drink a bunch of. Super hoppy, sweet, and heavy. Suprisingly you can't taste the alcohol at all. Almost tasted like cotton candy to me. I'd consider it more of a really sweet American Barleywine than an IPA. Think DFH 120, but with less heat.

On tap yesterday at City Tavern Culver City. 15.5% indicated on the menu. $8 a taster. Didn't try.

I had a glass at the bar, thought Simtra and Hop Shortage are better...

Unfortunately, City Tavern has some ridiculous prices for their beers sometimes.

This batch of Hopaholic was based off of the Belgo Hoptologist (I think). There will be four in the series, one for each of their DIPAs. Simtra, Hop Shortage, Hoptologist and Belgo Hoptologist. I'm looking forward to the Hop Shortage one the most!

They can't even make a good regular ipa...why not "quadruple" it!
