Visiting Portland next month. I already know the bars(Baileys, Apex, etc...)and breweries (HotD, Cascade, etc..) to check out. What I need to know is what websites/apps are best for posting reliable current tap lists in the Portland area? Thanks in advance for your help!

Many of the popular places have their tap list on their websites. Some places use taplister, but I couldn't vouch for how accurate it is overall. Honestly, most Portlanders are not terribly interested in crowd-sourcing this sort of data, just like most Portlanders aren't terribly interested in reviewing. And, with a few exceptions, most bar owners / managers / tenders aren't all that tech savvy and don't find much value in these things either, particularly when their establishments are full already.

The good news for you is that there's going to be good beer no matter where you go.

    This is your answer.

Apex.com seems to keep theirs up to date and Bailey's Taproom now has a iPhone app that I would assume is very close to what is on tap.
Any other place that I am aware of is hit and miss.
You can try Taplister but I find that very poor information.

From my experience, most Portland breweries' Twitter feeds are updated regularly. Not always tap list information, but it is still worth checking out.

Belmont Station is also pretty good about keeping their tap list up to date, as is the Cascade barrelhouse and Concordia Alehouse. Horse Brass is hit or miss, but at least they do list when the online site was last updated. Places like Henry's, County Cork, Lucky Lab, Laurelwood or Stillhouse, I would strongly recommend calling before hand if you see something on their site that strikes you as interesting.

"The good news for you is that there's going to be good beer no matter where you go."

Completely true. The problem I find, is that after a while you become acclimated to this fact, and so become spoiled. I find that I'm no longer satisfied with just a very good taplist, and I want to know before hand exactly what's on offer, so I don't encounter what I feel is a pretty mundane selection. Also, some places have a "normal selection" that is better than others. I almost can't see the point in checking Apex's taplist before hand, because I know there will always be at least a couple of selections on tap that are going to "wow" me. The Horse Brass now has both blue dot and RPM as part of their core line-up, two beers that I'm pretty much always in the mood for. If I'm in the mood for sours, then Cascade is pretty much can't miss, and it's pretty hard to worry about the selection at HOTD, when I can always "fall back" on bottles of Matt, Adam from the Wood, Cherry Adam, etc. Not sure if the OP will feel the same way (though from his post, it sounds like he might), but just thought I'd throw that last observation out there.
