As a heads up to those who care about such things... there's a TV crew at the brewery today filming for a beer specific show. Entering is akin to signing a release.

signed. As soon as I first tried the Cascadian Schwarzbeir I fell in love. Then I had Smoke & Dagger, and then Hoponious Union. And every beer they've released after that I could never speak a hateful word. I'd say I have bought more Jack's Abby than any other brewery, challenged only by Lagunitas.

Smoke & Dagger has remained to be my favorite readily available beer for the past 2(?) years.

Smoke & Dagger might be my least favorite beer from Jack's Abby and I still rated it a 4 because it's that good. Everything else just consistently blows my mind.

I'm stuck in a rut though, because I want them to get the recognition because they're that good, but I don't want all these people buying up this great beer. Exhibit A would be the BA Framinghammer variants.

Does anyone know if Smoked Maple Lager will be available at the brewery this Thursday? For tastings or bottle sales or both?

I think all. And it will distributed with a similar availability as Kiwi Rising was.

Going to be released by then? I was not aware of that. But yeah, sounds like in terms of distribution and batch size, this is similar to any typical Jack's Abby release.

gotcha - i guess my point was that i was unaware it was going to be released at the brewery then. who knows. but yeah, again, from what i've heard, it's a normal Jack's Abby release, so the Boston area, at very least, will be very well saturated.

I'm not positive there will be that much. I sure hope so though. I might take the trip up to the brewery on Friday and grab some. It's going out to Lawson's availability as well. That might take away from what Mass gets.

I was under the impression that they're brewing a batch at Lawson's as well for Lawsons' territory, e.g. how Allagash & New Belgium did Vrienden, DFH/Victory/Stone did Saison du Buff, etc. Is that incorrect?

Edit: yeah, looks like this is wrong. Not sure where I got that impression. My bad.

We brewed an 80bbl batch(same size as Kiwi) for MA and an additional smaller batch to send to Lawson in Vermont. It will be released at the brewery on Thursday as well as at couple of release parties. Other than that should hit normal distribution next week for most places. I can not promise how long it will last but if you want it, it should not be a problem to get some.

It's cool. But, yeah i think that they brewed all of this at JA. I've been seeing constant updates over the last month or so on Jack's Abby's facebook page and the only pictures regarding this brew were taken at JA's brewery.

I could see why you would think that though. Seeing that they're so close to each other (being within like 300 miles) they were able to kind of meet somewhere. I think this will make the beer a better beer. With the DFH/Victory/Stone collab, they're not as close (except for DFH and Victory) so they would be required to make their own batches and distribute to their markets that way. At least that's why I think.

Just went through their Twitter feed since I hadn't heard anything more about this. I found something that they said this beer will be their 2nd anniversary beer and the anniversary party will be around the 3rd week of July. They started brewing it on May 10th.
