Besides adjuncts? Probably Ommegang Abbey. I love dubbels, I enjoy other things Ommegang brews, and this beer is rated ridiculously high on B.A....but I simply can't stomach it. After a few ounces I have to pour it. I might revisit it in a couple years, but I gave it three tries and all three times had the same reaction. I think it might just be too complex for me, similar to Tremens (had that twice and both times struggled through it).

To all of the people that said Oarsmen, did you know what to expect from a Berliner Weissbier and are there others that you enjoy? Just curious.

That is the truth. The beer itself I won't say I enjoyed it, but I didn't hate it. But that lingering smoke was probably the worst part about it. I drank it on Christmas Eve because my wife gave it to me and she knows I'm a bacon nut on top of being a complete beer maniac so I had to drink it in front of her cause she was so excited that she found it. If I wasn't so drunk when I originally drank it, my like for it may have been a different story. Lol!!!

Bards gold... I think I threw up in the bottle or maybe that's just the way it tasted...NEVER...EVER...AGAIN...drain poured the entire six pack. That's what I get for buying a gluten free beer...

na, I'm w/ you here..I didn't think it was that bad at all, neither did a whole slew of folks I know around my area. It's NOT terrible, if you know the flavors to look for. (but not everything's for everybody though..to each their own).

kinda funny too..it didn't get rated very well on here as well. Most having a disapproval, however..Maple Coffee Porter by The Funky Buddha.. got a HUGE rating of almost 100 on here, folks are silly!

Funky Buddha's scores are most likely driven by homers and friends of the brewery. You can't trust homer raters!

Voodoo Donut tasted like smokey bacon and maple donuts, just like it says on the label. I think they did a good job with the beer. It was fun to drink once and was better than I expected it to be.

yeah, I agree..I had the Voodoo a cpl/few times & the description (is) what it tasted like. Not as horrible as some are letting on, but I probly won't go after it again much, if at all. -Cheers

You're probly right on the Homer Rating's of the Funky too!

This is garbage juice. One sip>drain.

A distributor rep brought this by to see if we wanted to carry it. Considering it's retired, I can assume they came into a supply for a good price and are trying to offload it on retailers. We told them we wouldn't carry it.

Awww C'mon Maaannn!!! That's a classic. Who didn't at least try it in high school? Tried it again fairly recently and its not as bad as everyone says it is. Actually a really good value for about $2 a 40. Ha

I bought two because I thought I might not be able to get more if it was great. I have yet to figure out what to do with the second one.
