La Muerta tends to be less BAs and more locals...but who know about this year with the direction the hype train is headed

I just want to be able to take it home and drink it when the mood strikes me. Fuck trading it, I don't think there is anything I'd rather have.

That would have been a great tasting to line up bottles and take a panoramic shot (he thought, later, after he wasnt drunk any more.....)

I tried that at our Funk and Sour tasting and you have to have a steady hand (in other words it didn't work very well). That wouldn't have been easy to accomplish for any of us! :astonished:

Not last year. Was available for a few weeks afterwards.

Locals told me that as well.

It was almost 3 times the output. Plus every month beer releases seem to get exponentially worse. lol

Right, cuz as chad mentioned, they had 1,700 bottles last year as opposed to the usual 200-500 bottles. That's the beaut of having a bottling line.

It's like I told a buddy "please welcome Texas to craft beer mania". I remember showing up to the BA La Muerta bottle release/share at 7am back in 2009(?) after moving from the northwest and finding nobody on the patio, people didn't really start showing up till 8-9. That's compared to other events I've gone to such as HOTD dock sales (5am), darkness (6:30am), pty (6am).

Here's a pic from Freetail's Instagram page. I spy KCBaby and ExperimentalAles front and center. I must have been right behind the photographer.

Kevin in the red Freetail hat.

I didn't remember that was ExperimentalAles. Thanks to him for the Parabola trade. At that point in the day I wasn't the best with names. I just hope his FFF Teku made it home alive.

Dude I am absolutely terrible with names. BTW I hope I didn't offend your GF or any other ladies... I swear it was all Brad's fault for my mouth being so foul. Wait that didn't sound right.

Hahaha, that glass is hiding the huge smile I had on my face; because that entire day was freaking awesome.

DanzBorin - Glad I could spread the Parabola around; it was a good trade. I was so hammered by that point I would have traded for a half empty bottle of White Rascal; so thank you for not taking advantage of me. And yes, the Teku made it home with me in one piece; although there were some close calls.

Matt - My girlfriend was in New Glarus heaven, I don't think anything could have offended her that day; so you are good in our book.

All good man, my lady can probably out filth most everyone there. lol

I look forward to heading up to DFW to hang out. I had a blast and was glad to meet people in person. Plus I feel like I knew half of you all pretty well from the forums.
I'm in it for spreading the beer love, not taking advantage. Was a pleasure to meet both you and the GF.

I was calling them fried breakfast potstickers....after hearing this, seems very appropriate. I will be making them soon, very tasty indeed.

I had a good time. Amazingly, I demonstrated restraint, which was a good thing. I really wasn't up for the miserable night of post-overindulgence this time.

It was so good seeing so many people I have met over the years in one place. Most of the Houston crews seemed to have some presence, plus it is always good to see the Austin and San Antonio faces I so rarely get to see, I even met some new DFW ppls!

Thank you so much to Scott and his people, who really go out of their way with hospitality. This was an amazing visit to Freetail. I am not sure our server's name, but she had a lip piercing I believe and the service was great. I am glad we drove out. Of my four bottles, I am keeping two, and gifting two to a couple of very deserving guys not in TX that have sent me some amazing brews over the course of our relationships. Hopefully, the locals who couldn't get any via mule will all be able to taste bottles that scatter out to local bottle shares.

    Cheers everyone!
